Spotlight Tipsheet: Berkshire 12/23

Another track, another tipsheet and another nice day, this time in Berkshire.   A total of eight races have been carded and here are my selections for each race.  Oddly, six races are maiden special weights with the other two being starter allowances.

Race 1  MSW   Race ID : 1586180

9-Priority Pass  9/2-first time starter with appealing bloodline with strong grass ability which includes Dansili and Montjeu as sire and dam-sire.

8-Sky Of Saints  7/1-finished third in debut with 79 speed in an attempt to wire field.  Could improve off that nice effort.

6-Darci Slew  5/2-out of sixth ranked sire Darci Brahma this one makes debut and has Seattle Slew as DS and Secretariat as DDS.  Could develop into a very nice runner.

Race 2  MSW  Race ID : 1609309

6-Distant Style  9/2-this Farhh bred colt ran third at end of October in career debut scoring an 81 speed.  May bring things home this time.

1-Big Benny Brown  6/1-after a poor outing at  mile in debut, this guy cut things back to 6 furlongs and came rallying late to finish second with 81 speed.  May not miss top spot this time.

8-Gold Dusted Stars  5/2-first time starter has favorable Sea The Stars x Dansili for grass running.  Could blend well and produce winner first time out.

Race 3  MSW   Race ID : 1586157

4- Elonrho    10/1-returned to grass in last outing  after altered dirt runs.  Speed boosted to 77 with second place finish.  Ready to score.

2-Ehecatl Ready  4/1-nice third in debut for this More Than Ready bred two year old posting a 76 speed.   Out of Spirit Ixtab, a G1 winner and looks to improve in second start.

7-K’s Fallibilist  8/5-favoirte based on Teofilo x Dubawi x Danzig breeding.  Makes first career outing and should enjoy the turf.

Race 4   MSW   Race ID : 1609308

4-Ifionlyhadwings  9/2-this one may have wings as he likes to fly on the lead.   Drops out of mile distances to 6.5 furlongs and should like the shorter better.

5-Catawi  3/2-will make first career appearance here and has top line breeding in Dubawi x Dynaformer x Storm Cat and the mix could result in a top line runner.

8-Freedom of Faith  3/1-this triple-A scratch bred (Awesome Again x AP Indy x Alydar) tried the dirt twice and couldn’t break maiden.  Gives the turf a chance with this race.

Race 5  Starter Allowance  Race ID : 1589439

2-Malibu De Lago  1/9-heads up small 4-horse field with a CPU entrant.  Last ran with 104 speed.  Will take this with lower number, best bet.

4-Poetry Comeback  5/1-handled 11 furlongs well, finishing second.  14 furlongs should be ok too.

Race 6   MSW   Race ID : 1595276

3-Thisisthemaxfactor  9/2-showed ability in last going 8.5f with 87 speed tally.  Finished second and breaks maiden here.

6-Dark Years’slater  6/1-has finished second four times in five starts, last with 86 going mile.  May get through that door.

5-Dunkirk Rescue  5/1-last three were distances of around a mile finishing third twice and fourth once with speeds in 84-87 range.  Contends in this one.

Race 7   Starter Allowance  Race ID : 1595717

1-Gladiator Returns   4/1-has shown ability to run 12 furlongs over poly in last three starts.    Going poly again  this time against CPU runners, good chance of upset.

3-City Link  1/5-CPU runner that hasn’t gone long distance yet, but has speeds reaching into 90’s.  Could get top spot if able to go the longer route.

Race 8   MSW   Race ID : 1595717

5-Dalaluz   6/1-speeds now in mid 80-range finishing third in last with 86 speed after setting pace for first time.  May try that strategy again and could work this time.

8-Historical Impact  3/1-enters gate for first time and has some solid grass roots within the bloodline of Deep Impact x Sea The Stars x Montjeu.   Might be the one.

10-Dark Ability  10/1-showed improvement in speed in last when running route for first time.   Possible upsetter.

I read many of your tipsheets, Ken, even if I have no horse racing. Your “old fashioned” tipsheet style brings me back to days of yore when a half dozen different ones were being hawked by vendors as I entered the track.

“Get your Green sheet here!” “Hey, mister Gordon’s got at least 5 winners on top today!” “Red sheets, get your red sheets here, red sheets!”

    Please continue. Merry Christmas!

LOL…I’ve seen those sheets outside of the track too. You could swear that they never missed and you’d be winner every day. They probably work as well as any of those “as seen on TV” items.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
