Upstate New York Racetrack Saga Continues

“Taxpayers Be Damned” seems to be the unspoken motto of New York Governor Bribeme.  A few years ago, readers may recall that the upstate New York racetrack was closed due to perceived economic conditions of the state.  Despite the poor economy, a $100 million enhancement of the Governor’s personal box at the track was refurbished with state-of-the0art equipment including a commercial kitchen, glamorous lounging area and a first class bathroom.  The personal box was expanded to hold up to 150 individuals, more likely, personal financial supporters to the Governor.

Taxpayers had to be scratching their heads when this was disclosed by the BTB that such funding was spent on a closed race track.   This past June, as exposed by the BTB,  the race track was sold.   Public notice was made, as required, with the only evidence posted within the Governor’s Mansion.  Taxpayers for the state of New York were very fortunate that Slumlord Builder LLC won the bid.  This company was found to be owned by the 8 year old daughter Jessica Bribeme who somehow managed to secure a 99-year loan through the state with payments not to start until 2055.

The track was leveled by the Slumlord Builder LLC and at the time of the demolition, a spokesperson stated that “The company will use the property for whatever it perceives to be in the best interest of the local area”.  So what became of the property and how did the local area benefit?   Was a park built?  Perhaps a swimming pool?  Maybe a community  center or a library?  The answer is “no” to all of these questions.

Upon arriving at the former track site one is greeted with a large twenty foot wall and what appears to be a guard tower.  The wall is long and seems to be endless in length.  One would think they were at the boarder of Mexico.  Well that would be if there were a wall on that boarder.   Since there is a guard tower, I thought there must be a prison on the other side.  Maybe it’s not the best thing for a community but at least the grounds were used for the benefit of the state.

I met up with a local community leader who asked not to have his name published, hence he will be known as Deepvoice.  Since properties like this would need community approval, I asked how that went and whether or not the local community was in favor of the prison.   Mr. Deepvoice stated “We were never approached for approval on this property, so we approached Slumlord Builder, LLC who told us that upon leveling the grounds, they sold the property back to the state.  We checked the property deeds and it did legally change hands.   The state has rights to use their owned property as they feel fit and state law supersedes local law”.

I asked about the transfer of property and what was paid for the grounds.   Deepvoice replied “The original sale from the state to Slumlord Builders was for a sum of $5,000.   When the Slumlord Builders completed demo work, they sold the property back to the state for $5 million.”   Nice profit for the company, although they had equipment, personnel and other costs, I’m sure they made well over $4 million by the time all these deals were completed.

The construction that was completed was of public record and I found that another “public bid” was placed, although the exact locations of these postings could not be determined, it was found that Slumlord Builders, LLC offered the best bid for the project and was awarded $7.5 million plus cost overruns not to exceed $2.5 million.

So I called Mr. Deepvoice up with some follow up questions.  Asking him if it was  a prison that was built he said “We thought it was, but we have not seen any prisoners transferred in or out”.  So what did they build, I asked him “We do not know” was his reply.   I inquired as to whether anyone in the local community worked there “None that we know about” was his response.    A big place like that surely needs supplies to operate with.  Mr. Deepvoice answered “We thought that too.  But no one has seen any delivery trucks.  The only thing entering the gates have been a few security people who will not talk to us and some limousines with darkened windows.   We have also seen on occasion helicopters fly in and out.”

What is going at the former race track?   I tried to find out by going to the main gate where a security guard quickly slammed the gate door closed and refused to answer any questions.

The only way to find out was to somehow get above the property.   As nice as it is to work for the BTB, they would not splurge for a plane nor a helicopter ride over the property.   Going the way of a drone sounded appealing, but they are pretty costly.  So using my vast lack of knowledge, I decided to use a bunch of office materials I scrapped up from around the office and build my own.  I used paperclips, rubber bands, gluesticks and even took the 9-volt out of the fire detector to power my home made drone.   I made it small enough that nobody would see it flying in the sky above.

It was no prison that was found inside these secure walls, although one may say that the taxpayers of New York have been held prisoner.  What was seen on the other side of this great wall was one great sized man-made lake.

The speedboat flying across the lake has a striking similarity to the one owned by the Governor.

Also observed from above was this small helicopter pad with what appears to be the Governor’s specially made yellow copter with the pilot sitting on the door.   But one more observation was made before I risked running out of battery power.  The undoubtedly cheap boat dock, with waterfall as shown below.

Who would have ever thought that the upstate New York racetrack would be doomed to being a misused playland and a moneymaker in what is actually  a huge cover up for one major leader of the state.
