Challenge Update-Reached Half Way Point in BP’s
Three went to post and three brought home some bacon. Gotta love weeks like that! BP total now passes the half way mark but still a long way to go and the clock is ticking.
Results
After a nice second in early October in a pricy $125,000 claiming race at a mile distance, ELITE DANE was trimmed back to 5 furlongs and a lower $75,000 claiming price. Staying in Oklahoma, this front runner has adjusted well to the 80-early speed setting and has not been fading off at the end. He delivered another second place finish worthy of 20 BP’s and also a G-card.
SOLID KASH CARD, a horse bred from sire cards, raced for her third time. She was moved over to the dirt for the first time and ran with older horses in a $12,500 claiming race. She did well as the 5/1 second choice. Although she could not defeat the heavy 1/10 favorite, she was within a stride at the wire and took second place. 27 BP’s were collected as well as another G-card.
THE FOUR ‘F’ CLUB has not been burning up the track by far as evidenced by her speeds in the 50-range as a sire card bred filly. This week she stretched a bit in distance from 4.5 furlongs to 6 furlongs and bumped up in claiming to the $15,000 price tag. The favorite ran on the front and ran away with the race, however, the remaining five bottled up in the stretch for a hard dual to the wire for the second spot. This filly took the second spot moving up from the rear of the field at 9/1. Earned 27 BP’s from this race and the common G-card to boot.
Stable Changes
The Four ‘F’ Club has had lower speeds than I really would like, but has been on the board in each start. Still, I’m keeping her but putting her to the farm for a bit. In her wake, CHALLENGE TAKER has been moved into the stable. This one is a recently bred horse from the sire card deck and I don’t expect much from her. She’ll be racing in early November after training for about 2 weeks.
Totals
SIRE CARDS:
Three G-cards were picked from the deck giving me a total of 2 F-cards and 21 G-cards. I have traded 20 G-cards in to get me 4 F-cards, changing the total to 6-F cards and 1 G-card. I’m debating whether I want to breed an F-card horse or trade up until I get a pair of E-cards and exchange that for a sire share.
BP’s
74 BP’s make a feeling that a jackpot was just hit. Not quite but a very welcome boost of the total in this 1,000 challenge to 523.
A good wek, but you got your work cut out now, boy !!!
