| This 2yo colt out of Unbridled’s Song (x A.P. Indy, won Classic), whom himself won the Breeder’s Cup Juvenile in 1995, has plenty of breeding to compete here. Started 0 for 6 in his career while coming from the backstretch barn area to close for top-3 finishes in 5 of those 6 races. But it wasn’t until race 7 in his career, that things started to click. A change of scenery (Cal to BC) and a slight adjustment in running style proved a winning formula. Instead of coming from last as he did in prior 6 starts, jockey Phelps we told to keep him mid-pack and he did just that, closing with the same wicked kick, he pulled away to win by 3. The only concern in this race is whether the new strategy will stay in place or if the “way back” method comes back, if the latter is true, it could be a tough challenge as there is not much speed here to make it favorable for a deep closer. El Kursaal, could be El Victoro. |

| Taleb is also from a BB winner (Orienate won Sprint in ’02). Started career with a narrow lose (nose) and jumped right to winners next out, but didn’t make a fool of himself, finishing a strong 3rd (2 lengths back). He returned 6 weeks later to win the Tiger Wells by almost 2 in Montana. His most recent start left alot to desire though, finishing 8th, 5 back in a GII. Which leaves a hint of “over his head” running in that race. But maybe it was a good knowledge learning race and the added distance won’t hurt. Will need to be mid-pack or closer to have a shot. |

R Simcox |
14/1 |
| The most experienced runner in the field (along with GetOnWithYourLife) at 8 races. Super breeding (Thunder Gulch x Easy Goer x Riva Ridge) to show the want for distance, but has yet to give the results. First race at a distance produced a win, but has struggled in 3 races since. Does pickup the services of the 2nd best jockey on the grounds (with Gossett and Bates in KY) in Simcox, so that is + in his hat. If the track had some moisture in it, it would up his chances. |

| Tied for most races early on in career (with Thunder Goes Boom), the difference here is this horse flourished with the added distance. Posting 4 straight 80+ SP’s, winning 2 and finishing 2nd in another. Will be one of the main speedsters. Smart move in getting a race in on US soil before the Cup. Look way out in front to see this one early on. His father (Came Home) did not have success in 2 BB races, so Getonwithyourlife will be trying to save the family name here. Chance!! |

| Mecklenburg moves here from the #4 horse to ride a Maider winner in last out. The switch from Turf to Dirt paid off. His dad (Sakhee) finished 2nd in the BB Classic in ’01, so the distance breeding is there. Interesting!! |

| Has posted back to back strong SP’s (84, 86), recording a 1st and 8th place finish. But don’t be fooled by that bad finish, the winner was Adhesive, who is co-favorite in this years Breeders Bowl Juvenile. Adhesive won by 2 and this horse was only 4 back. Dad (Daylami) won the BB Turf in ’99. This horse a shot at pulling this off as long as young jockey Webb (only 3 wins in ’06) puts him a good spot early, which is just off the pace. |

| Dad (Roses in May) ran 2nd in BB Classic in ’04, and Gulch won BB Sprint. Has the top breeding to succeed, but is lightly raced off breaking maiden in last out. Has posted back to back 80’s to start career, which is definetly a plus. Will added distance help or hurt? That answer will determine his outcome. Guess we ask, does he have more Roses in May or Gulch in him? |

V Feller |
8/1 |
| Magpie’s dad (Speightstown) won the BB Sprint in ’04 and Unbridled won the Classic, so we have the same scenerio as #8 Liberty In July, is he a sprinter or classic runner? Had no interest in 8f race two back, and is 2 for 2 in stakes and 0 for 2 in graded races. Failure to show liking for distance and the failure to run his best against the best leave alot to be desired. Will be a speed horse or right there behind the first level. Jockey Feller (3 wins in ’06) will need the perfect race to win, which is a slow early pace. |

O Brim |
20/1 |
| “Expectations” and great bloodlines (Seeking the Gold x Mountain Cat x Fappiano) with the appearance to run well every race, surface and distance, gives this flickspad colt a chance. Has won back to back races, with his most recent being the most impressive with an 81 SP. Seems to be improving at the right time, and flickaspad had a tough choice between this and the Juvenile Turf, resting his hope on a coin flip is living on the edge and I LOVE IT. Will be a deep closer. so he’ll be leaving his fate in the speedsters hands. Jockey O Brim is not a bad addition either. First race was at CA and didn’t far well, but has found his groove since. Got a chance at big odds!! |

M Billig |
21/1 |
| Gets the riding services of NWRC CEO Mike Billig in the saddle. Nothing like kissing up to the boss. Billig is back for a 2nd time on this Testa Rossa(Aus) colt. Big breeding on the backend for this kaif012 colt (Storm Cat x Seattle Slew) and we all know what they can do. Is 0 for 3 since first out maiden win, but has improved SP’s and that’s a good sign. Will the CEO be enough to will this horse to a win? Well, “It Makes Me Sad” to say..NO!! |

| “The Pain of Being” a longshot in a stakes race gives you little respect. 0 for 3 since first out maiden win and SP’s have decreased since, not a good sign. |

| Nice last race, but problem is, he didn’t get up in time and that was 6.5f. Showed no liking for distance in previous and only route appearance. Likes to close from behind, but so does several other top horses here. Looking elsehwhere!! |

F Ford |
7/1 |
| Co-morning line favorite. First 3 career races were impressive, but last out was less than desirable finishing 7th (9 lengths back) and was fading. Ran same SP in that race as he did in the GIII the race prior, which leads me to believe this horse has about reached his max potential. The goods new though, in his last race, 3 of those who beat him are running in the Breeders Bowl Juvenile. A return to running up front early would only benfit this colt, but jock F Ford (5 for 103) is having a tough season. Will an 82 SP get it done here, thinking not, but ya never know. |

The good news: Received sponsorship from Guiness this week, and they are providing a big tent in back yard filled with Guiness.
The bad news: Nobody will be paying attention to him because they’ll be drunk, which probably means they won’t miss much.
Rumor has it jockey Mesler (1 for 55) will be drinking too. Not much expected here.

Co-morning line favorite. Has 2nd best SP# in the race with a 90 two back. Is 0 for 3 in stakes, with only a 2nd to show. Does appear to be improving as he’s ran his top 2 SP’s in his last 2 races. Will sit somewhere between leaders and mid-pack, waiting for a hole, and if he runs back to either of those last two SP’s, he be in the thick of things. Chance!!

M Staples |

|
Co-morning line favorite and pulls top jock on the grounds M Staples (Gossett and Bates in KY). Staples has ridden this colt once prior and that was his last start at this distance (8.5f). Also sports the top SP# (94) in the field, doing so beating #16 Seaside Track. Not sure how the odds makers see these two as co-favs, when this colt beat Seaside by 8. This horse is PURE speed, and from the 17 hole, will have nobody cutting across in front of him, so the lead will be easy to get too. Can’t argue with the results thus far, only question is if the closers will have enough time to get to him. Big Shot!!
