1 | BARB’S STEELY DAN | 19/1 | Scratch bred by the infamous “Barb” man. This colt jumped into new territory last out by increasing his SP by about 20 pts. He had tried 2 stakes events previous and looked below average. Placed in a NW2L, he won with authority in a seven horse field. I don’t think he’ll hold that form here.
2 | RAIDER WORLD BOSS | 10/1 |
Bred out of an “F” rated mare that has proved to be a good producer so far. Trainer is part of the arrogant ARSE group at DelPenn and has some decent stables. Colt is coming off two wins and a place in his last three outs. Stalker type that fits well here.
3 | O.C. MATT | 4/1 |
Bred early to a 4yo “G” rated mare, this colt produced a win at SP93 last out. We’ve got to think that was his top form race to date and he may just take the big “bounce” here. Even if that’s true, he still will have a shot at ITM. The field isn’t that tough, and so far has shown he’s a decent sprinter.
4 | STEAL THE LIGHT | 8/1 |
Nicely bred from a he/she “E” rated mare, this colt won 1st time out and has been running over his head since. His last two races have been in graded company where he was sucked along for the ride. He may show some speed here as this is an easier field. Depending on how he fares here, conditioned races seem to be the future.
5 | FOUR HUNDRED( | 10/1 |
Bred to an “E” rated mare, colt has only been out OTM once. Seems to have already shown his best and fits well here. This race will probably be won with a SP80+ or so, and he’s capable. Ironside will be a help.
6 | MOZART’S QUEST | 11/1 |
“H” rated mare and 9 starts for this guy tells all. Honest sort that should do well in allowance/high claimers next year. Ross will get all from him, but probably not enough to win. At least WYSIWYG.
7 | BBORS SHIFTY | 11/1 |
“F” rated he/she mare that may have been a turfer in disguise, was mated to Night Shift. Colt so far hasn’t tried turf, but run some decent dirt races. Colt won 1st out and had been average at best till last out. Won coming off the pace in NW2L last out with SP84. Hard to figure he’ll duplicate that here. I have a feeling this colt would be a good turf miler.
8 | SACRED RULER | 7/1 |
Bred to an “F” rated he/she mare of quality blood, this colt has won his last two outs and has been ITM in all his starts. He has a nice closing kick which bodes well here. Grass bleeds from his veins, and that would be my suggestion sometime soon. Jock is lead guitarist in “Black Label” band and has a gig Saturday night. This may be a distraction and lead to a lousy ride.
9 | SLEW THE | 5/1 |
Scratch bred that should dictate the pace in this. As to whether he can close the deal after a bust out race last out, is questionable. His SP90 in his last out is one of the highest in this field. He was beaten by the #3 horse in that affair and both may have blown their cookies. However, even a slip back into the 80SP’s should be competitive here.
10 | INNOVATION | 14/1 |

11 | RANDOM CATAHOULA | 20/1 |
Random bred by one of the DelPenn trainers that was bought in the auction? At any rate, should be up the track in this.
12 | 9/2 |
Classy scratch bred that looks like he wins for fun here. One of those 2yo colts that should appear in the classics next year. He has won his only two starts without cracking a sweat and should be getting his picture taken in this also. |
