Part 2: Small field for the $150,000 G3 Go For It Handicap from Oaklawn in Hot Springs, AR

A 6-entry field for this 6.5F Grade-3 sprint with a $150,000 purse for fillies and mares. I guess everyone else went to Saratoga this weekend. Lets give these ladies some love, shall we?

1) Grape In Punch: 12-1. This 3yo filly has been running in Stakes company all year and her best finish was a 3rd back in June. I don’t see her doing much in this one and she finishes up as Tail-End Charlie.

2) Distorted Hannah: 11-1. Owner James22 has been struggling to figure what to do with this 4yo daughter of Distorted Humor. Her last 3 races have been on turf, dirt, and poly. She seemed to like dirt sprints earlier in the year. Maybe the change from turf back to dirt will give her the bump she needs to contend in this race, but I just don’t see it. Not a contender.

3) Eleven Nineties: 8-5. The favorite at 8-5 has struggled for consistency in her 4 Graded races this year with 7th, 1st, 6th, and 3rd place finishes. But, she is the class of this field and I would bet her to win this one.

4) BC Suzy: 5-1. She has been running routes since October, but owner Balata is moving her back in distance to see if that helps her out. I don’t know if it helps or not in terms of a win, but with her pedigree and the short field, I think she makes some noise and I would bet her to at least show.

5) Western Fields T: 5-2. One of 2 co-second favorites, 4yo Western Fields made a statement in her last race with a 105SP over 6.5 furlongs. She has run consistently between 6F and 7F with speeds up to 105. I think the odds-makers have it right betting her 2nd so I would bet her to place.

6) Cool Coal Cat: 5-2. Lightly raced with only 3 starts this year, Cool Coal Cat won the 6.5 Nicoles Nation Dirt Mare Sprint with 108 speed, but has struggled to two 7th place finishes in her 2 graded races this year. I might bet her to place in this short field, but only if I didn’t mind losing $2 as I think she hangs on for 4th.

Win: Eleven Nineties
Place: Western Fields T
Show: BC Suzy

Getting some love: Cool Coal Cat
