INDIANA JUVENILE
THIRTEEN COLTS AND ONE FILLY TAKE STEPS FOR NEXT YEARS RACE ACROSS THE RIVER IN KENTUCKY. TODAY INDIANA HOSTS THE $125,000 GRADE 3 INDIANA JUVENILE GOING A MILE ON THE FAST DIRT COURSE. |
1. STEAL THE NIGHT a colt by MINGUN and from the vicki stables has a record of 1-1-0 in 4 starts and earnings of 52,090. Won at first asking in DE. His last start he finished 4th beaten 3 lengths in the G3 LITTLE TREE STAKES. He did post his career best SP in that race also. Would think the added distance will only hurt this colts chance today. |
2. GRUMPY GRANDPY a colt by GULCH and from the andycapper stables has only 1 race under his belt and that was impressive debut in LOUISIANA. A 6.5f MSW this colt dominated with a 87 SP coming from off the pace. Distance should not hurt this colt. |
3. PUMP N RUN a colt by ALBERT THE GREAT and from the blackswan stables has a record of 2-1-1 in 4 starts and earnings of 33,560. Broke his MDN at WV with the ever popular drunko Maloney in the irons. Followed that up with a 3rd in a minor stakes at PR. Came back last out in a ALLW race going 8f in which he got up in the last few strides to post a win. He should be PUMPED UP AND READY TO RUN TODAY. |
4. RHARFO’S MISSION a colt by STEPHEN GOT EVEN and from the roscoe2 stables has a record of 2-2-0 in 5 starts with earnings of 68,060. Finished 10th in his last start in the G2 CAMEL JUVENILE from DB. His race before that in Illinois he was beaten just a head in the STEVE BARTMAN SPECIAL. Did not get a very good rider for this race here today. |
5. KIWI’S FIANCE a colt by EUROSILVER and trained by kbsweet has a record of 0-2-2 in 5 starts with earnings of 30,011. Has been on the board in each of his last 4 races albeit 3 were owner restricted races and his last a MSW going 8f in which he finished 2nd after having the lead turning for home. |
6. OFFLEE ROWDY a filly by OFFLEE WILD and from the carpediem stables has a record of 2-1-1 in 5 starts with earnings of 80,760. Broke her maiden in her 3rd start at NF than went overseas to FR to win the JADED BONAZA Stakes going 8f with a 77SP. Her last race she stayed across the pond to compete in minor stakes from SP where she finished 3rd. |
7. ONCE AND AGAIN a colt by AWESOME AGAIN and from the pirate stables has a record of 1-1-1 in 3 starts with earnings of 34,940. Top jock ARMSTRONG jumps on board this colt today. Was 2nd in debut at 6f in LA followed that up with an easy come from behind 7f event. His last start in the SAINT RAPID CHALLENGE from KS going 7.5 over an off track he got up to finish 3rd and posted a 83SP. Distance should be no issue today. |
8. SCHOOLOFHARDKNOCKS a colt by ROCK HARD TEN and trained by itsthebear won it’s debut in Florida going 7f MSW. Colt rallied late to draw away at the end and posted a 78SP. Distance doesn’t look to be an issue here with this one but the only negative would be the jock 9% win rate. |
9. EL JIBARITO a colt by FANTASTICAT and from the jibaro stables has a record of 2-1-1 in 5 starts and earnings of 59,616. In his last start a minor stakes from Mexico he was the best of the 4 that day. His previous race in the STEVE BARTMAN he was a badly beaten 10th. |
10. GOLDEN TOY a colt by TOUCH GOLD and trained by lostcode broke his maiden first out in Florida with an impressive victory going 8f. Posted a solid 84SP that day. Breeding suggests better things for this colt. |
11. MR. MISTOFFELEES a colt by STORM CAT and trained by stormborn has a record of 2-0-1 in 4 starts with earnings of 58,960. This colt has faded in the stretch in his last two starts both races over the VT course. Not positive the switch to Indiana or the distance will help today. |
12. FILIBUSTIER a colt by FOXHOUND( DANZIG) and trained by hohenlohe has a record of 2-0-2 in 6 starts with earnings of 36,300. Broke his maiden in his 5th start after stretching out to 7f. This colt loves to fall to the back and come flying with a rush. Followed maiden win with an impressive Allowance victory going 7f and posting a 87SP. Added distance should only benefit this colt. |
13. SUPERMAN a colt by STORM CAT and trained by waremblem5 has 3 races with 3 victories and earnings of 115,380. Won maiden debut in Japan. Colt took to the sand in DB winning a 6.5 Allowance race. After flying thru the storm clouds he found himself in the GOLD TORNADO Stakes right here at Indiana in which he won with the top jock ARMSTRONG in the irons. However today ARMSTRONG chose not to ride him. |
14. LOWLAND NIGHTS a colt by PURE PRIZE and trained by wonder1 has a record of 2-1-0 in 5 starts with earnings of 54,315. Won maiden debut in LA. Came back 2 starts later on the turf and won the MEN’S EXCLUSIVE at NC. Jumped up to G3 company last 2 starts and has been badly beaten. |
MY PICK: #7 You have to think jock ARMSTRONG knows something. |
