Spotlight Tip Sheet: Kentucky 11/13 & Pick Results

Overcast skies but no rain equal dry tracks for the racecard at Kentucky on Thursday.  11 races will be held at the track and here are my choices for each race:

RACE 1  Race ID : 1392448  CLAIMING

1-Grausense   7/5  proven two miler runner gets golden opportunity here, rarely not in top three.

2-Ride Every Inch  16/1 returns from injury and has hit board before in long distances, value choice.

3-Curteddy  10/1  stretches out in distance and may find benefit from this.

Grausense started day just right winning 2 miles with ease and ok $4.80 payout.  Curteddy was some 15 back in fourth with Ride Every Inch finishing last, neither having much to brag about.&

RACE 2  Race ID : 1382140  MSW

4-I See Slow Horses   6/1  finished second on dirt back in August with 80 speed at mile, returns from failed turf run, gets call.

1-K’s Ameritrace was second last time out with 85 SP at 7.5 furlongs.  A bit more distance won’t hurt.

10-Erysian Guard  7/2 makes debut run with strong Distorted Humor x Seattle Slew bloodline, could impress.

K’s Ameritrade pounced his way home to break his maiden and paid $12.60.  Box exacta obtained with I See Slow Horses finishing second after taking over lead and holding it most of way, exacta worth $93.20.  No luck with Erysian Guard who finished fourth, passing tiring horses.

RACE 3   Race ID : 1400825  MSW

8-Firm Directive   4/1 finished with strong late move in second back in September with 78 speed in only dirt run, improves with return to dirt.

6-Isle of Pines  5/1  capable of closing late or going for lead, good with either roll.  Decent 8.5 f  run in last on turf, can improve off of that.

10-Of Mauke 3/1  Bernardini bred colt could start showing talent any day now, could be in this race.

Of Mauke ran nice 91 speed for 2 year old and took top spot worth $8.60.  Isle of Pines finished fourth   with failed gate to wire effort.  Firm Directive was flat, finished fifth.

RACE 4  Race ID : 1385804   MSW

12-Republic Freedom  2/1 had strong late run in October debut at 7f and 81 SP, goes 8.5f here and distance will help.

11-Confession to Make  12/1 has shown signs of wanting to run late but needing more distance.  Goes longer 8.5f, not sure if this is the magic distance, but will take the value.

8-Dog Mountain Gal  7/1  set pace and tired in first dirt outing at end of September, may find surface favorable and hope for better run this time out.

Republic Freedom responded to whip and attacked from the back to win by less than a stride, win worth $6.20.  Confession To Make was last and made up ground, not enough to get on board, fifth.  Dog Mountain Gal got caught up in speed dual for lead, tired to sixth.

RACE 5  Race ID : 1392272   CLAIMING

3-Cal Storm 29/1 won wiring field at just over mile in debut.  Shortens down to 5f here, early speed may last at a price.

7-Monte Meet Caleb  1/1  best speeds in field but likes to run late, shorter distance may be more challenging.

6-Mischief Speed  5/1  nice second in last at 5f which was back in July.  Good spot to return in after long rest.

Big payday here!!!!   Mischiefs Speed battled her way from mid-field to top spot for win paying $12.20.  Longshot pick Cal Storm took over lead in stretch and looked like he would take it, but was beat in final strides.  Can’t complain about $358.70 boxed exacta.  Got boxed trifecta too worth $764.10 as favorite Monte Meet Caleb came on late to get third honor.

RACE 6  Race ID : 1400829  MSW

2-Intense Storms  7/1 made up 6 strides in last quarter mile in last race at mile with 80 SP.  Dangerous going longer.

11-Bandi D’Rub  7/1  was second in last three starts, two at mile or more, tough fighter anxious to score one.

5-Dragonberner  5/1 front runner put up much improved speed number of 79 going route for first time in last, may find way to hold on this time.

Another big hit!!! Bandi D’Rub played stalker roll and paid $17,30 for nice win.  Dragonberner added with box exacta of $116.90 after setting pace and being run down in stretch.  Intense Storms made up a lot of ground with last to third effort, rewarding a box exacta of $943.70

RACE 7  Race ID : 1392442    CLAIMING

3-Wondrous Wealth  8/1  front runner usually gets purse proceeds at 12f.  Race sponsor has chance to take this one.

6-Bussaw  10/1 drops in claiming level, does well at lower levels, chance here.

8-Sense My Idiocy  13/1  won last with drop to $15,000 claiming level.  Drops again and tries to repeat.

Bussaw was very strong coming from 11 back to draw away by three and paid $23.50.  Wondrous Wealth  tried to run away with it but had to settle for second, good enough for boxed exacta worth $232.80.   Sense My Idiocy ran well early, but hit a wall and dropped off to 9th.

RACE 8  Race ID : 1392452  STARTER ALLOWANCE

4-Blusero  2/1 saw 10 win race streak come to end in last outing, time to start new streak in short field.

1-Maximu Steel  9/5 will close late and goes longer, could be winning combination.

Blusero ran 2nd all the way around the track finishing 5 back at wire.  Maximum Steel was 15 back at the line and took third.

RACE 9 Race ID : 1386066   MSW

1-Klang  5/2  rallied from 8 back to miss by less than 3 in debut at 7f, extends to 8.5f here and gets more time to find way to top.

3-Worldly Hopes  9/1  missed by head in last at mile, offers nice price and decent opportunity.

2-More Than A Dance 7/2 shuffles over to turf this time and has some grass in bloodline.

Nailed the exacta and trifecta striaght up as Klang put in nice rally to win at decent$7.60.  Worldly Hopes was game in the race and looks better than odds reflected, worth $84.20 on exacta ticket.  More Than A Dance took over lead going into stretch but could not hold on, rewarded with $279.20 trifecta.

RACE 10  Race ID : 1386772   ALLOWANCE

2-Candy Run  3/2 won nicely in debut at 6 furlongs, mile should not be a burden.f

1- Lenologist  7/2  also had nice win but at mile in debut, top foe.

5-Vindictive T  11/1 won last at 39/1 when pushed up to mile and large speed jump to 80, gets chance to proof if she is for real.

Competitive field with Lenologist being best performer of my picks, finishing third, losing photo for second by neck.  Candy Run was right behind in fourth and was dismal as favorite.  Vindictive T fizzled out and probably needed more time between starts, last place.

RACE 11  Race ID : 1400830  MSW

7-Too Many Heroes  3/1 despite speeds of 83 in two starts, failed to get to winner’s circle.  Switch to grass may make the difference.

2-Ice Breaker K  8/1 switched to turf in last and closed 7 strides in second half to finish fourth.  Better timing could add up to win.

5-Deep Impact Kris S 5/2 name reflects the breeding and bloodline could add up to solid turf runner.

Too Many Heroes took command of the field and led into stretch but could not retain top spot and beaten by neck at wire, got second.  Deep Impact Kris S ran up front early but had nothing left at the end, dropped to fifth.  Ice Breaker K made up little ground and tumbled cross wire in 7th.

RACE 12   Race ID : 1386088   ALLOWANCE

1-Indian Defense 2/1 fired off 90 SP in last going mile, slim edge in field with some good 2-year old runners.

2-Delta Dagger 4/1 finished third in residency ESR Little Curl stakes with 89 speed for mile, improves with each start.

3-Moneyindybank 7/2 had big bounce in speed from 72 to 88 when upping to mile distance and breaking maiden, capable of two in a row.

Delta Dagger took away the lead from  Moneyindybank (finished fifth) to win this event paying $10.10.   Indian Defense   had mediocre run and ended up fourth.

RACE 13   Race ID : 1388838  ALLOWANCE

2-Score Again Ted  9/2 broke maiden in August at 5.5f with 84 SP and increased to 88 SP in last finishing 2nd at 6f.  Looks to be able to handle mile call here.

3-Bingo Smith  2/1 solid win at 7f  and picking up first career win.  Should be tough competitor here.

7-Mr Derby Good  16/1 stunning win when moved to dirt in last, winning HOT race at 12/1 and 83 speed.   Oddmaker may have overlooked this runner.

Score Again Ted cut the early fractions before relinquishing lead past the half and finishing fourth.  Bingo Smith ended up in fifth with Mr Derby Good right behind, neither being competitive.

RACE 14 Race ID : 1392451  CLAIMING

8-Crystal Meth 2/1 long distance runner takes humongous drop fomr $125,000 claimers to $7,500 claimers and has speed edge.

5-Mousey  13/1  has been running 2 miles for last 12 races, has the experience at this distance.

4-Every Man’s Dream 3/1 has competitive speeds at this level, just a matter of handling long 2 mile distance.

Mousey ran second throughout the event and could not catch the pace setting winner.  Crystal Meth disliked the 2 mile distance and was fouth, some 20 strides back.  Every Man’s Dream was distanced in the race, finishing eighth.
