Well Surf’s Up in California for the 7^th annual running of the Grade III Gary Rogers Handicap. The 8 Furlong event here in California is restricted to 3yo’s Only and is run on the turf course. The 2005 running of this event was won by khalasar trained Balerion who just happened to win a Grade I event last week in Ireland. Now to the field….

This very nice 3yo Colt won in debut over 7Furlongs on Dirt. Next two starts were disappointing but in his Turf Debut he fired a 2^nd place in a Allowance with a 82SF just getting nailed at the finish. This colt had the honour to be a representative in the Equinics. He now has 2 Allowance Wins on the trot by a combined 6 ¼ lengths and 94 & 96 Speed Figures. Big chance here and definitely a place chance.

Last Time out at Oregon he won a 7.5 Furlong Ungraded Stakes by 1 length with a 101SF. Doesn’t look like a turfer to me but it could surprise.

She then won 2 consecutive Allowances over 6.5F leading all the way with a high of a 88SF. Debuting his 3yo season he finished 5^th in a Stakes followed by a 5^th in a Allowance. Last Time Out was 3^rd in a Allowance. I don’t think this colt should be in this race. Longshot.

Next start he won a Allowance by 2 lengths with a very good 91SF. After failing in a G3 LTO he won a Stakes by 1 ¾ lengths. Very good horse who likes like a good hope.

After winning start #3 he went on to run a very tough 2^nd in the Grade I Japan Racing Association by 2 lengths. Last Time Out he ran a very good 4^th in a Grade I. Should win this with ease and seems to not like 9F but prefer 8F.

After that he ran 2^nd in the Grade I High Flyer Stakes by ¾ of a length with a 89SF just getting pegged at the end by Andy’s Choice who is now #5 3yo Turfer. This year he has ran 5^th in a G1 and then 4^th in a G3 before Last Start winning a stakes by 2 ¼ lengths.

Likes to lead and could get away with a nice lead in front.

Selections:

Clemstone for first who is definetly the best in the race with a Grade I 2^nd under his belt.

Seeking To Rule is my second choice after a extroadinary win last start/

For third I like Fuzzy Rainbow who has won 2 stakes and has ran 2^nd in a Grade I & Grade III before.
