Seven go in Saint U. Challenge

This week at Vermont, the Challenge of Saint U,

Seven furlongs on the green grass, still wet from the dew,

Three year old colts, looking for a breakthrough,

The question is who, for the win, will rally on cue.

Trainer super13 sends out Crafty ‘N Wild,

Odds of 7-1, with speed sharply dialed,

Impressive numbers this year has super stables compiled,

Their runner from post one, a front runner styled.

From post two arrives the next, Barracuda Waltz,

Trained by caar, who proudly and loudly exalts,

“This horse is so good, he has nearly no faults!”

With only one fig over 83, his words do ring false.

Super9 trains the three; A super horse once again,

Making a Statement, who will surely be tough to contain,

Five to one odds; they bet he will be fierce in the lane,

Super hopes that Statement will be this field’s bane.

Huddie70 from post four sends out ummm… horse Huddie,

Naming a horse after ones own self, a psychological study,

Could be performed but don’t worry, Huddie ol’ buddy,

Your horse is quite ruddy, his chances not cruddy!

The favorite from post five, the esteemed Tamariki,

Five wins in a row, that’s something to see!

Trainer emtstables proclaims, showing much glee,

“My horse is so good, vict’ry I guarantee!”

Barb’s Rosebud from post six, trained by Wolverine,

Bred to run long, sprint skill is not yet seen,

Lightly raced still, so chance to improve is not lean,

Six to one odds, his chance to win not obscene.

From post seven is the last, the fast Northern Chant,

Odds of three to one and a good chance to win I must grant,

“I can’t see him losing, I really just can’t!”

Does owner jockeymax1, confidently rant.

A very deep field, the race looks a good one,

All are fast and talented; all could make a good run.

But my handicapping is over, really before it’s begun,

I’m taking the favorite Tamariki, who I think wins for fun.
