Magoo2912 says 6 of the 9 runners can win the Las Vegas Handicap
Hello everyone and welcome to the great state of Nervada for the Las Vegas Handicap-G3 (2832.4415) to be ran over 6.5 furlongs on firm turf for fillies and mares 4yo and up. Today we have some of the top ranked horses in the division including #3 ranked 4yo filly TEQUILA SHOOTER #8 ranked K’S ADDIKTION as well as #12 ARKANSAW DIAMOND and a host of others trying to climb the rankings list so let’s take a look at the form guide and try to find the winner.

This horse out of crimeboss stable is looking to win his 12th stake or graded race and is alos looking for his 5th in a row. His only race so far this year he won easily over 6.5 furlongs with an sp of 97. 97 is not good enough to win this but I bet he had plenty of petrol left in the tank and will be very hard to run down. I expect him to try and go wire to wire a good chance.

SEEKING THE GOLD x BROAD BRUSH x NORTHERN DANCER 5/1
comming off a great victory in the Castle Point Stakes-G2 this 6 time stake or gradeed winner has been in very good form this year with 3 stake wins from 5 starts. Last start he was pushed all the way but held off #2 ranked RED TEJAS to go on and win. Before that he was a disapointing 7th in The FURIA Memorial-Stk but the run before that he had his career best run in The LIGHT OF DAYJUR Challenge-Stk over 7.5 furlongs with an sp of 110. So if he can re-produce that form he may be very hard to beat

Has won a 12 stake and graded races in what could end up a hall of fame career. So far this season she has been in great form winning her last 3 races all at stake level. with 25 wins 6 2nd and 1 3rd from only 30 starts and $606,739 in prize money you would be a fool to discount her I expcet to see her on the speed and she has a great chance.

Good horse without being exceptional this winner of The DELIUM Special-Stk has not quite made the grade at stake level with only 1 win in 8 attemps and after a very good allowence win last start I would like to see her improve in her stakes races before I bet on her. If she can sit just off the speed and sprint with them at the 3 furlong pole she may sneak a place but for me no.

GONE WEST x NORTHERN DANCER x ALYDAR 9/1
From a very good stable this lightly raced 4yo daughter of GONE WEST is a 2 time stake winner who has found 7 furlong just a fration to far in her last 2 races and will like the slight step back in distance. So far this year she has a win and a 2nd in four starts which have all been at stake level. I think she will sit around about midfield and will need to run career best speed figures to win this place chance only.

GULCH x NORTHERN DANCER x RAISE A NATIVE 9/2
The best horse in a very good stable K’S ADDIKTION is the #8 horse in the division and will be looking to improve that figure with 10 wins and 8 placings in just 23 starts. Winner of The Triptych Memorial-G1 last season and great form this season see’s this daughter of GULCH at 9/2 in the morning line of betting and if she can reapeat the 106sp from last start she will be in the finish I expect to see her at the back of the field and making a run at the 3 furlong pole Hard to beat.

ALDEBARAN x DIXIELAND BAND x UNBRIDLED 5/1
Undefeated as a 2yo and winner of 10 stake or graded races including THE WHITE LILY G1 and the WES SAINT-MARTIN G1 and ranked #3 in the division. (what a resume!) TEQUILA SHOOTER has been in solid form this season with a very slow G1 win and a solid stake win and if she can get back to the form of 6 starts back 108sp over 7 furlongs she will also be in the money. She is the leader in this field and will take a lot of catching. Each way.

DIXIELAND BAND x CRYPTOCLEARANCE x RIVERMAN 12/1
The long shot of the field who is trying to win her first stake or graded race will have her work cut out for her taking on this field of smart fillies and mares she had been racing very consistant at allowence level and has not quite been able to match it with the stake horses and as this is another class rise I just can’t see her winning. She needs to improve about 8 lenghts to have a chance. Not for me.

SKY MESA x CRYPTOCLEARANCE x WAVERING MONARCH 7/1
7 time stake winner who is looking for her first graded win. This daughter of SKY MESA is another racing ok and can cause a big upset if she can run like she did 3 starts ago in The CAJUN MUSIC Challenge-Stk where she ran a 110 speed figure over 7.5 furlongs. She failed 2 starts ago on a wet track but then improved again last start with a 1 lenghth 3rd to #4 ranked GOLD SQUALL in The FURIA Memorial-Stk.I think she will sit at the very back of the field and make a sweeping run down the outside in what I think will be a blanket finish She has a great chance.
After all that I think POWER OF PEGASUS II and TEQUILA SHOOTER will be the pace makers in the race ARKANSAW DIAMOND, NIGHTHAWK LUST and CHARMING CHASE will be in a group behind them followed by HERBALISM, DIXIELAND LASS and CRYPTO MESA with K’S ADDIKTION out the back last. In what I think will be a blanket finish I will not seperate 6 horses POWER OF PEGASUS II, ARKANSAW DIAMOND, NIGHTHAWK LUST, K’S ADDIKTION, TEQUILA SHOOTER and CRYPTO MESA. This is so hard to pick it could go to any of these. So I will go the Box trifecta 1,2,3,6,7,9 but this is not a race to bet on it is a race to just sit back and watch. Goodluck to all the owners.
