Hello. I have just taken on the job of writing aboutthe Puerto Rico races for the BTB. Before I start talking horses, I’dlike to take a minute to tell you about me. I am not a talented writer. I won’tbe able to make you laugh every time like some of the journalists that post.Occasionally I may make a sarcastic comment that I believe to be funny but 90%of those that read it won’t think that it is. With that said, I will do my bestto do your horse justice. I would enjoy feedback whenever possible, positive ornegative. I will include my email address at the bottom of each article..whenever I remember to…incase you want to tell me about your horses.
Four horses lineup for Saturday’s race here in PR. Iam always amazed when I notice a stakes race with very few entrees. When I havea horse running the same distance in an allowance race filled with 14 horses,it makes me think I should start entering my horses later in the week.
Our first entry is TRYORDIE of jimjstable. TRYORDIE has the following breeding: STRAVINSKYX DIESIS(GB) X NIJINSKYII. Tryordie’s placed in The Chief Crown’sChallenge in N. Florida in 2769, a race that 3 of the 4 horses here ran. That race was at this same distance and saw Tryordie match a lifetime best 92 SP. Tyrordieis usually best when sitting off the lead but, with this short field and withthese horses specifically, look for Finkbeiner to tryand lead throughout.
Nextup is RAINBOW FLUX of mrfu2stable. Rainbow Flux has the following breeding: RAINBOW QUEST x NUREYEV x SIR IVOR and is the 86th rankedturf horse in this class. With 11 races under hisbelt, RF also comes out of the Chief Crown, in which he came in 6th.With a lifetime high of 87 SP but with thhe trackbest jock Drozd, RF goes off at 5/2 odds. His lastwin is several races ago, but he was held in the back of the field in that racebefore coming on strong late. In order for RF to turn the tides on Tryordie here, he will have to step it up a notch.
Thirdwe have A.P. SAILORMAN of besibol stable. A.P. Sailorman has the following breeding :TUMBLEBRUTUS x A.P. INDY x REFORM(GB)) and is the 130th ranked horse in the division. AP is the“outsider” in the race as he comes out of the FLAG GET STAKES in 2734, in whichhe placed. He has a high sped of 89, but had 2 wins at this distance within thelast 4. D.Johnson gets the ride and at 5/2 odds, thisis the horse that could knock off tryordie, if anyonecan.
Last is SPRITE REMIX of lgbost9.Sprite Remix has the following breeding: SPEIGHTSTOWN x NOTHIN’ LEICA DANE(AUS) x EL GRAN SENOR. A comment here, this is a breedingmix that I would have never thought of for one of my favorite sires. It is veryinteresting how well it has worked out thus far. S. Remix has 3 lifetime winsincluding 2 of the last 3. Unfortunately the nonwinwas in the Chief Crown and he placed 7th behind both Rainbow Fluxand Tryordie. The 82 SP posted there was right inline with his lifetime bests, so there is no reason to think that Remix will surprisehere. Shortridge gets the mount,a jockey that has won on this horse in the past.
Well since, none of the stableschoose C. Donofrio as their jockey (that is me!) Iwill be watching from the stands as usual. I think they will finish in the followingorder : Tryordie, SpriteRemix, AP Sailorman, and Rainbow Flux. I will be putting 500 bucks on Tryordie to win with my chuckrockstable.
