The Grade III Razorback Cap
1. 89254 ACT OF BRAVE pm 11/1. A 4yo colt by Gone West is the 21st rank horse in this division. He started his 2yo campaign very good coming in 1st or 2nd in 6 starts; which included his only time running at this distance which was the BB Juvy race where he finished 2nd. Running at 8f he has done well as a 3yo, winning a G1 and coming in 2nd in a G2. Even though not the favorite in here, does have a chance to win this and he’s a closer.
2. 8926 KIDMAN aussie 22/1. A 5yo horse by AP Indy. He looks like a decent horse but might be misplaced here. He won a 8f stakes 3 races back with a 104SP but surrounding that are 5 real bad efforts. In the 3 graded stakes races he ran in his best finish was only 9th. He has run very well in allowance races, but I just don’t see him anywhere near the finish at the end.
3. 25446 JAM TOMORROW compassion 6/1. A 6yo horse by AP Indy is the 6/1 co favorite in here. In 4 of his first 5 career races he ran in route races picking up 3 2nd’s and a 6th. Then only once in his last 33 races has he ever ran at 8f, and it was a 2 length win in a stakes race three races back. He coming here off a 7.5f stakes win with an 111SP. He likes to stay near the pace before making a move and drawing away at the end. Doesn’t look like distance would be much of a problem. He has a good chance to win this.
4. 104765 MOUNTAIN DANCE hayoulost 24/1. A 4yo colt by Mountain Cat. He only has 5 career races, but has won 4 of those 5; 3 came in owner restricted stakes though. Ran at this distance once winning a allowance with a career high 106SP. He just missed winning a 8f stakes race LTO. I could see him coming in 4th or 5th possibly.
5. 95278 WAR BLUFF reclaimed 9/1. A 4yo colt by War Emblem. He has won 9 of 18 career race and is undefeated in route races on dirt going 4 for 4 winning all 4 impressively. They were all allowance wins though and his SP’s range from 102-110. In his only stakes try however he did horribly, it was at 7f. If he can handle this type of competition he can do well and finish in the top 3.
6. 89513 TITAN MOON bulletwork 11/1. A 4yo colt by Dynaformer. He started out his career on turf where he did decently, but the switch to dirt was even better winning 5 of 10 dirt races, all which were route races. Ran at this distance once, which was LTO in a stakes, picking up 3rd coming from behind. His SP’s aren’t as high as some in here and aren’t too many frontrunners in here, I don’t think he can win, but could pickup a paycheck.
7. 19266 SILENT VOICES goillini 14/1. A 5yo horse by Battle Cry. He was pretty much just an average 2yo but has gotten a little better as time went on. He ran at this distance 4 times with a win and second, both which were allowance races. Then the other two times were stakes races, which he finished 5th in both, one which was his last race. I just don’ see him doing well in here.
8. 5469 TAKING RISKS bliss 6/1. A 4yo colt by Forty Niner and is the 6th rank colt in this division and also the other co favorite. Has 16 races with over $2 mil earned. He definitely looks like the one to beat. Is a multiple graded winner, just finished 2nd in a G1 at 8f LTO. He likes to stay near the pace before making his move. He ran at this distance only once which was 5 races back in a G3 which he won by 2 lengths posting his career high SP of a 111. He looks like the one to beat in here.
9. 87032 BEST OF THE SUN(IRE) sunline 6/1. A 5yo horse by Best of the Bests is the third co favorite. He’s another who started out his career on turf then switched to dirt as a 3yo. His 3yo campaign was ok but got much better as a 4yo last year posting triple digit SP’s in 12 of 14 races. Is a multiple stakes winner, and came in 2nd in a G3 at 8f. He ran at this distance 5 times, all which were in stakes company, he won 3 of them. He’s coming off a 5th LTO in a 8f stakes but he is a closer. I’m not sure if he’ll win this but somewhere in teh top 4 is expected.
10. 94958 ALYRUSH therock 11/1. A 4yo colt by Danzig Connection. He’s another who started out his career on turf then made a switch to dirt last year as a 3yo. His record in route races is 5(2,1,1), his only out the money finish coming in a G2 at 9f. However he ran in a G1 8f race LTO and came closing from behind to come in 3rd losing only by 1/4 length. His SP’s are on par with some likely winners here, he could possibly pull a upset win here or collect a paycheck at least.
11. 26023 GOD’S GIFT lulu 9/1. A 4yo colt by Fusaichi Pegasus. He started out his career very well in getting 6 wins from his first 9 starts. He then ran badly in his next 5 to only comeback to win his last three by 2 lengths each. He has tried this distance 4 times, winning 3, two of which were his last two races; a allowance and G3 race. Also should note that his 3 highest SP’s were at this distance, a 110, 108, and 105. He’s a major contender here to win this.
12. 65570 TOP MONARCH gowand4 12/1. A 5yo horse by Monarchos. He started out his career on turf as well but turned better as a 3yo on dirt. In his middle to late 3yo career he put up some high SP’s like 118 and 116, but they were allowance races while he didn’t fare as well in stakes or graded company. As a 4yo he won a 8f G3 race with a 112SP and won and placed in multiple stakes. In his 2 starts this year he has lost by 8 and 9 lengths. Also hasn’t run well at this distance as he tried it 9 times.
13. 80649 BEARING GIFTS albarace1 23/1. A 5yo horse by Orientate. He has about an average 2,3 and 4yo career running in claimers and allowance races with mid 90SP’s. However as a 5yo this year he has gotten much better. He won his only 2 route races this year by 2 and 3 lengths with a 105 and 108 SP. That 108 SP came in his only stakes try. he already has 38 career races so that wear and tear factor could hit anytime, but if he continues to do well like his last 2, could come in the top 6.
14. 65922 HOLLOW MISSION(GB) strstable8 8/1. A 5yo horse by Beat Hollow. His first 3 career dirt races were ok, but since then he has gotten better. He placed in graded and upgraded stakes. He won 3 stakes races last year as a 4yo. He ran once this year coming in 3rd in a 9.5f stakes race. He’s another closer, there looks like there are a lot of closers in here. His SP’s look good enough to hang with these other guys. He looks like he could collect a paycheck.
