The Grade III Triangular Star Stakes
On tuesday night this race only had 2 entries for a GIII race. Then on Wednesday 6 more came and joined in. Doesn’t looks too much like a Graded field but more like a regular stakes field. Guess not much realized this race was running.
1. 19967 BUDA JUSTICE keryn 7/1. A 3yo filly by Atticus. Her dam was a turf router, and this filly has tried turf routing once and did bad coming in 6th of 11. She seems better dirt routing winning a allowance on dirt 2 back with a career high 85sp. However doesn’t look like she can do much on turf here, also making her 2k6 debut here.
2. 86501 KILLS THE PAIN(IRE) sdmf5 4/1. A 3yo filly by Giant’s Causeway. After winning her dirt debut then running bad next time out on it, the trainer made the switch to turf and looks like the right move. Has 3 wins in her last 4 turf tries, 2 against stakes competition. However her highest sp is only a 84, she’ll need to get it up here if she wants to win this and beat the favorite. Making her 2k6 debut as well and likes the front. I expect a 4th or 5th place finish.
3. 103534 BRUCIE BONUS beefcake4 5/2. A 3yo filly by Rainbow Quest. This filly is the favorite in here and deservingly so. She has 5 wins from 6 starts on turf, 2 came against stakes company. her sp’s seem to improve in almost every start. She has a front running style but shows she can also stay near the pace then make her move. This G3 races isn’t too tough so she looks like the winner.
4. 96377 GETTIN’ IT peter12 6/1. A 3yo filly by Dynaformer. She has five career starts her first 4 were on dirt, where she won her maiden easily with a 82sp and 3+ lengths. However she tried turf for the first time last time out in a stakes and came in a nice 3rd with a career high 87sp. Her sire says turf, so I expect another good performance, I think she’ll come in the top 4.
5. 106479 ALBORADA(IRE) galicia 5/1. A 3yo filly by Swain. Her dam was a turfer and looks like she might be one as well. After 3 mediocre starts on dirt, the trainer switched to turf, she won an allowance and then came in 2nd in a stakes last time out. She looks good; her sp’s are good and she closes well, could pull of a slight upset and win. I expect a top 3 performance.
6. 112608 GLOUCESTERSHIRE(FR) youngrufus 23/1. A 3yo filly by Linamix. Can’t say much about her only has 1 career start. She broke her maiden couple week back at 7f on turf with a 81sp. Should improve I guess, just not sure if she can do good here, is a question mark.
7. 100950 DEFEND(IRE) wistful3 6/1. A 3yo filly by Refuse to Bend. This filly broke her maiden in her 1st starts on turf. Then went on to win an allowance, then come in 3rd in a stakes. She then went on in a Grade2 and came in last place on a wet track though. Since then she has run her last three in dirt. Her dirt races were better then her turf races so it doesn’t looks good for her, but she could surprise since she hasn’t run on turf in a while.
8. 101893 FUSAICHI FLAME soho 5/1. A 3yo filly by Fusaichi Pegasus. In 6 career starts she has never tried the turf. She is running ok on dirt and her sp’s are improving with each start. In her only route race she finished a horrible 11th of 13. She likes to stay near the pace most of the time before making her move, but I’m just not sure how she can handle turf here. She’s an average dirt horse maybe with the switch here it can wake her up?
