Grade III Red Bird Handicap
1. 40319 SJ’S SILVER GHOST ufslfarms(owner) 7/1.A 4yo daughter by Silver Ghost is the 13th rank filly in the turf routing division. She has done horribly in her last three races, maybe the wear and tear factor is hitting her? One of her best races ever was at 8f on turf, where she won and got a 112 SP last year. She ran at 8f only once this year losing by 11 lengths. I would have to pick against her here.
2. 6377 HMMM slappy 2/1. A 4yo filly by Rainbow Quest. In her first 2 career starts she looked like she was gonna be a very good racing filly. Since those 2 starts she was doing ok, but her last few races have been at best about average. I don’t expect her to come in the top 3. When she’s in the lead, she does her best, but there are a few others who like the lead as well, so it doesn’t look good.
3. 13893 WEDDING MARCH seacadet 7/1. A 4yo filly by Rahy. At this 8f distance she hasn’t done well so far this year, she did have a win two starts back but that was a owner restricted race. She just lost a 8f race last time out coming in 4th, and her SP’s have been about average. It doesn’t looks like she will be able to contend with some others in here. She likes to come from behind but so do most of the fillies in here, she’ll probably get out closed by some others.
4. 95687 ROCKCLIMBER hillylua 7/1. A 4yo filly by Forty Niner. She started her racing career as a 4yo, never raced at 2 or 3. So there is room for improvement. Her record at 8f turf is 4(2,0,2). She lost her last two at this distance, so I would have to look past her as a winner, at best I think she’ll probably finish ahead of half this field. She also likes to come from behind, or stay near the pace.
5. 52782 NUMEROUS II victorious 5/1. A 5yo mare by Numerous. Her overall 8f turf record is 5(3,0,1), only race she finished out of the money was on a wet track. Her best races this year were at 8f and she has strong closing move. I think she has a chance to win this over the favorite. She also could be a good dirt horse.
6. 52286 DANDY PROSPECT coug 7/1. A 4yo filly by Danzig. She just won a 8f turf stakes last time out, however it was on a wet track. Her best race this year was in week 2412 where she ran at 8f on turf and got 3rd with a 105 SP. She then ran at 8f again two races later and managed only 4th wit ha 91 SP. Even though she just won that 8f turf stakes couple week ago, i’d have to look past her because she looks to really like wet tracks, and that average race she ran on 8f a while back.
7. 33160 CANDY CANE wally123 21/1. A 3yo filly by Distant View. She offers some great value at her odds and what she’s done at 8f. Her record at 8f turf is 4(2,2,0). By the way she just won a G3 8f turf race by 2+ lengths. Shel ikes the lead but will have pressure up front, so that could hurt her. Also this will be her first time facing older horses. If she can overcome these 2 things I can see her pulling off an upset win or soming in the top 4 most likely.
8. 90553 ABIGAIL kobras4 12/1. Another 3yo filly, this one a daughter of Strike the Gold. She looks like an average nice horse. In 19 starts she has only raced on turf 3 times. A 8f race two back winning with a 98SP, and took a huge step in class going in a G1 turf race last time out, where she finished last. Also her first time facing elders. I don’t think she has a chance to do much here if she can’t handle the class.
9. 60909 KARYN AGAIN totje 12/1. A 5yo mare by Lemon Drop Kid. She has only been in sprint races this year so far. However looking at her past 8f or longer route races, she hasn’t done well in them. In her only three 8f turf races she ran in she went to the front and faded, except one which she won which as a claimer. Her chances don’t look good.
10. 15813 WOODY’S ZZENE ruby5 3/1. A 4yo filly by Woodman is the favorite in here. She has won more than half her races on turf. She is another one who has only sprinted this year, but has done well in them. Last year she ran in two 8f turf races, she won one which was a allowance and lost the other which was a stakes. I think distance will be a problem for her, which makes me have to look past her as the winner probably, but her SP’s are better then most so I could see her coming in the top 3.
11. 23097 WARRIOR KNITTING 11/1. A 7yo mare by Green Street. Her owner just claimed her two races back for $40k, and then raced her last time out in a 8f turf stakes which she won, the SP was only a 94 but she won easily. Her record at 8f turf if you discount her wet turf races is 4(2,1,0). She is the oldest girl in here, but seems to still be running well, I doubt she can win but she can probably collect a check in here.
