The crowd will definitely be abuzz as we get ready to wrap up the 2005 Breeders Bowl. The hopes and dreams of the owners that they will come up with that Diamond in the Rough will shortly come to pass for one horse. A win here can certainly lead to great things in the future. We are taking a look at the horses sires as well because that is really what this race is all about. There are some really beautiful and talented horses here so let’s take a look:

1 – EOS LIGHT ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
20/1reallycute22.2% S.Kramer 9% N/A N/AMyfavorite Place

This gorgeous grey colt was claimed two back by Reallycute and promptly ran his best speed figure. He has a win, place and show in only six races but has always competed in claimers to date. He has ping-ponged between dirt and turf and runs both about the same. His Daddy is freshman sire Myfavorite Place who has sired only one other offspring and both have won a race in limited starts. Might be one to look at.

2 – SINGFORYOUR SUPPER ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
6/1mollydoer14.1% J.Benisz 23% 78.1 78.1Singingintherain

Two races with good results for this filly. She came in second in her maiden on dirt then stretched it out to seven furlongs on the grass and won going away with a 78 Speed Figure. Could be a formidable foe for the boys here. Her sire has a nice turf presence and offspring with over $1 million in winnings and a couple of stakes wins. I wish she had a bit more experience on turf but could challenge. With J.Benisz in the stirrups, any horse can show some magic.

3 – ADAM AGAIN ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
13/1kallaloo6.2% C.Renee 4% N/A N/AFrench Deputy

This will be the first try on turf for this colt. He will be looking for the winners circle for the first time and actually hasn’t found the first half of the field yet but you never know with these young horses. His sire French Deputy has a record of not only six stakes winners but a graded winner as well. He seems to have an affinity for dirt routers but this is a good move for Adam Again and trainer Kallaloo.

4 – STRATEGIC DEFENSE ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
5/1bbrs4.3% R.Case 18% N/A N/AMilitary

Only two races for this brown colt with the one white sock but he has had two very respectable speed figures, both 70 or over. He has hung back in both races and there aren’t too many like that in this race so it may play well. His Papa is a Danzig offspring that has a 60% win figure for his progenys and has multiple stakes and graded winners as well. R.Case will be sitting on a dynamo and he knows how to bring them home. He may be guiding the winner.

5 – DEW ON DELTA ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
19/1delta5tigr5.1% T.Williams 6% N/A N/AClassic Sport

Jumping out of the gate is a natural for this filly as she has led both of her races at the start. She hasn’t finished that way yet and hasn’t run anything over six and a half to date. She is well rested and trainer Delta5tigr would love to see her break her maiden here. Her sire Classic Sport has produced only seven runners as of now and only one win. She has plenty of Northern Dancer background and would like o flash that on Saturday. She will be jumping out and grabbing the rail.

6 – MR.GAS LEAK ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
6/1nameless31.4% M.Harrison 11% 67.5 67.5Truckee

This maiden colt ran on turf at seven furlongs for the first time last outing and ran one of is best races. That may bode well in this race. Truckee, his father has mostly produced dirt sprinters but it looks like Mr.Gas Leak may prefer this surface. M. Harrison will have his hands full but may be able to bring home a winner.

7 – THE LOVE BOAT ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
3/1stupor4.0% S.Calloway 9% 76.6 76.6Wiseman’s Ferry

Five for Five in the money but never quite able to visit the winners circle. This big brown colt loves the lead…maybe too much. He rabbits out front then tires in the stretch. Consistent and respectable speeds, it is only a matter of time before he wins that first one. Why not here? His sire Wiseman’s Ferry is a Hennessy offspring that has a 32% win percentage and one stakes winner on the turf. If The Love Boat can capture some of Daddy’s magic he will be winners circle bound.

8 – BAYREUTH(GER) ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
11/1albarace27.3% M.Trull 6% 56.7 56.7Boreal

This filly won her maiden race seven back and hasn’t been able to duplicate that speed or win. She has actually been a bit off her game recently and struggled a little with the allowance crowd. Her last three have been on the dirt surface after starting her career on the turf. Trainer Albarace2 has tried most everything to get this young lady back on her game but to no avail. She may do well against this crowd though. Her sire is German bred Boreal who has fairly meager breeding stats to date but may produce late bloomers.

9 – M. BEAR ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
16/1imatiger28.8% M.Squiteri 13% 67.4 66.3High Firm

One of the prettiest looking fillies in this race, M. Bear has won on the turf and likes the longer distances. She ran a good race last out on an off track but won the race previous at seven and a half. She’s only run twice on turf and three times over all but looks to be on track. Her sire, High Firm is tough to figure as he has only produced three runners who’ve run eight races. M. Bear has the only win. Squiteri knows how to handle young horses and M.Bear may be the recipient of that experience.

10 – LETS C WHATHAPPENS ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
35/1mollydoer14.1% Z.Dundey 9% N/A N/ASadler Slew

This nice little filly has 1 second in four races and hasn’t broken a 60 speed figure yet. She has only run one turf race and that was at five and a half furlongs. Trainer mollydoer decided to stretch her out on the turf and “Let’s See What Happens!”. Sire Sadler Slew is a son of the great Seattle Slew and has shown some prowess around the breeding shed. He has 58% winners counted among his progeny and six of those won stakes races. His offspring have won more than $3million and one has even won a graded Stakes race.

11 – FYRE DAEMON(GER) ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
14/1welshwitch4.4% B.Chill 5% 63.2 62.7Silvano

This German bred filly is lightly raced with only two attempts and not a lot to show for it. She has a third and a fourth but her times are a bit on the slow side. Perhaps she will like the extra distance, as her Daddy tends to throw route runners. He has about a 30% win rate with his offspring. This will be jockey Chill’s biggest race in his three years in the saddle.

12 – RIGHTEOUS RULE ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
17/1shalom20004.9% D.J.Joe 9% N/A N/AStorm Creek

Another maiden filly looking for herself. She has run three times and only one on the green stuff. This will also be her longest outing and the first over six fulongs. So far she has started quickly and fallen back just as quickly. She needs to conserve a bit for the end. Her sire, Storm Creek is well established as a good one with multiple stakes winners and over 50% winners. He usually breeds more dirt than turf runners though and Righteous Rule, Shalom2000 and jockey D.J.Joe need to find her niche.

13 – SAFFY GO LIGHTLY(FR) ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
13/1culloden5.0% E.Walker 9% N/A N/ASaffron Walden

Trainer Culloden’s colt started his career like a house a’fire by throwing a 75 speed figure and finishing second by a length. They’ve both been looking for that magic ever since. He has struggled in his past three and is trying a longer distance for the first time. His French sire has mostly produced turf distance runners so this may actually be the right spot for Saffy Go Lightly. E. Walker with 13 years experience will show a steady hand.

14 – BONE JUICE(GB) ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
13/1lgbost2yo5.1% M.Goldyn 9% N/A N/AMutamam

Five races with 2 shows in his resume for this brown colt with the white blaze on his face. He has only run twice on the grass and those were the two third place finishes so he may be ready to step it up a bit. His sire Mutamam has a nice strong turf influence that is showing through with this youngster. Mutamam has produced 40% winners and one stakes winner. This colt could surprise.

I think that M.BEAR can hold on to finish just out of the money. STRATEGIC DEFENSE has plenty of speed but may not like the grass track. It may be close but I don’t think that THE LOVE BOAT has quite enough to keep up to SINGFORYOURSUPPER . She and trainer Mollydoer may be singing in celebration after this one.

Good luck to all runners!
