The Barberville 2013

Hi all and welcome to sunny Paris the city of love. We have a big day of racing lined up here today and I will focus on The Barberville which is one of the biggest races at this track. Expect big crowds and loads of money, wine and food to be consumed. This years field has attracted a field of six quality horses and each has a good chance of winning this.

Five year old horse by DUKE OF MARMALADE who is yet to win at this distance. Has won both his races at the class but they were both at 2400m. This is his first start at the track but has the well experienced jockey B Lugosi on his back who is career best form. The owners took this horse to the US last start out where he started favourite on a very rainy day and he didn’t handle that at all finishing last. Can’t see him winning just cause he hasn’t at 3200m yet, and I think you must take this one at your own risk.

Five year old mare by HIGH CHAPARRAL who has two starts at the distance for a win and second. Doesn’t seem to handle this class with yet to get close to the top three at this class. Has had a win at the track and has T Monk on her back for the first time. Has found some form racing in small field allowance races, but hard to see her beat one here.

Four year old colt by LATERAL who is yet to lose at the distance from two starts. Has had the one start at the class where he made some late ground in a 2400m race. Has had two starts at the track and they were his first two starts and jockey D Viergutz takes the ride on him for the first time. He has been racing in the US for nearly the past year and is looking a much better horse. He will no doubt put in a good run and must be considered as one of the main chances.

Has finished third at his only start at the track and has the experienced T Thedog on his back who is in good riding form. He has never started at big odds and here is no exception with him starting second favourite. In a small field like this he is considered to be a good chance.

Had her first start at the track for a a nice second placing, and has B Tate on her back. In a small field like this I think she’s a big threat and is good value for money.

Loves this track with yet to miss the placings from four starts, and has D Aniel on his back for the first time. He is the quality runner in the field and is the one to beat.
