Spotlight Tip Sheet
This week, the Spotlight Tipsheet focus is on Athens:
RACE 1
3-Puttanesca looked good two back finishing second going 8.5f, connects this time.
4-Connecting Worlds been on board 8 of 15 turf starts, one to beat.
RACE 2
2-Drift King has done ok on dirt, moves back to turf and gets shot in open event with new owner.
1-Daddy’s Money gets 22% winning jockey Mills aboard, improved chance to score.
3-TSR’s Comeback longshot in race, could get a piece and enhance trifecta.
RACE 3
2-Ghost in Flight-Strong close in last to finish second with speed of 99. Has been dropping in claiming ranks and takes another drop and gains services of Drosos. Well rested and gets the call.
8-Five Start Choice-switched over to turf and scored with career best speed of 93. Bred for turf and ready to proof it at rewarding odds.
3-Rainbow Warriors-pace setting horse with only three starts this year. Easy win in last start and seems to be in top form.
RACE 4
9-Eight Confirmed gets edge with ability to hit speeds in 80’s, which he has done every-other week. Due again this start.
2-Known Approach has been competing against allowance company and moves to claimers. Should find this to be a more competitive level.
3-Carries A Beat has been doing well in claiming level, swaps back to turf and may take home some purse money.
RACE 5
1-Red Sin-missed walk to winner’s circle by neck last time out. Gets there this time.
5-Yallakool-should benefit with reduction in distance.
3-Ohope Dawn-considerably overmatched in MSW level, moves to claimers and gets honest chance this time out.
RACE 6
1-Pay For Magic-ran out of room in last finishing second. Better spot this race and won’t need extra distance.
3-Flying IX Chel-drops into claimers, class relieve should payoff.
RACE 7
3-The Tractor Story-walked to wire with easy 6 stride win. This race will be tougher, but look for repeat.
1-S R Cry-drew away from field by three running similar distance with speed of 98 and will be one to watch out for.
5-Aint You Gonna-has won last two with strong late runs. Capable of being the spoiler.
RACE 8
5-The Grey Havens-hard to look past the last two speeds of 108 and 105. Gets top selection.
2-Startcat Thunder- has the capability of catching the leaders if he’s on his game.
3-S R Stern-girl shows good front running ability and will press to be in top spot. May have enough left to cash in.
RACE 9
2-Med Major ready to break maiden with best speeds going.
1-Famous Susan is 0 for 24, can’t rule out this time.
RACE 10
2-Rock of Ohope-speed numbers significantly higher than foes, easy pickings.
3-No Talent Quest-best of rest in short field.
RACE 11
9-Unrivaled Schlong-second last two with speeds of 97 and 106. Has been 2nd five of last seven starts. Ready to score.
11-Random Hummer-cannot be ignored. Won last three and has been on the board 75% of starts. A “must” for exotic wagers.
1-Ghosts N Goblins-competitive low-end stake runner has been factor recently in allowance level. Rewarding payoff is possible.
RACE 12
4-Musical Dreams-monster effort to win at wire in last with speed of 92. Speeds have gone up in each race and probably will again.
5-Canoodling-tried a route early in career, didn’t fare well. Has matured and will be competitive in this start.
1-Duke’s Up-last start was extremely disappointing and a throw away. Much better than that outing shows.
RACE 13
3-Empire’s Minister-Speeds over 100 in five of last six, all on this track with Drosos aboard. This pair are ready to score.
4-To Infinity-Two very good outings this season at 7.5 furlongs. Returns to this distance and will be competitive once again.
7-Nakatomi-Front runner with excellent breeding. Usually finishes close and on board 12 of 15. Don’t overlook.
RACE 14
10-Motion Dismissed-Multi-grade winner cruised to easy allowance win as a prep after short layoff. Seventeen time winner well worth a look.
3-Crafty Indy-Has been off the board only once in past year. Speeds have been impressive and is the one to beat.
8-Touch Me All Over-speeds only below 100-level once in past two years. Very consistent and a nice addition for trifecta plays.
RACE 15
4-Heart of Dreams-Distance suits nicely and will be a factor in this one.
5-Needs Two Miles-ironically prefers mile and a half. Gets top rider.
3-Musketeers Horse-Speeds have been best, but at lesser distances. Going 12 furlongs as favorite is questionable, but best of rest.
RACE 16
3-Tomato Can-may have found that 12 furlongs is ideal distance for this Empire Maker mare. Won last three at this distance, with career best of 106 in last.
1-Luna Shadow-will battle with top choice for lead. Hit top speed of 103 with a second place finish in last. Expect another good effort here.
2-S R On the Go-has been sidelined since March and returns. Needs the start.
