FROM THE HORSES MOUTH – 5051
From the Horses Mouth RACE 1 4 – AZUL DEL CIELO(NY) – third place finish in open company against a full field in Kentucky in debut, meets locals here out of now NY sire Bluegrass Cat who should turn out his fair share of winners in Big Apple races, days best 2 – GIMME SOME NUMBERS(NY) – Posse colt made his debut on the turf and should find the dirt trip more to his liking at a generous price 3 – HEROLAMO(NY) – second in his debut in local affair, draws inside and should be first to the rail RACE 2 4 – MASTER VOLTO(IRE) – perfect at this distance on the dirt, late closing kick, and the best chance to upset the odd on favorite 1 – LEGISLATER(KY) – odds on favorite is a winner of 4 of 7, first from the gate has speed and the rail and is strictly the horse to beat RACE 3 1 – MELTING MOMENT(AUS) – steps out of open company races and runs best in conditional races, rail and good early speed make her a factor 3 – WILD HENNY(KY) – class of the field looked like a tired horse last time out in the G-2 Bed of Flowers, hails from top barn so we’ll give her another chance this level 6 – GHOST DREAM(KY) – twelve times first or second in fifteen career starts, enough tactical speed to lay close to pick up the pieces and is racing in top form RACE 4 3 – AT THE WAXWORKS(ENG) – six year old mare makes her 41st start and is only 1 of two horses in this field that have actually won a race in the past six months in a race for non-winners in two of in six. Makes third start off of a layoff and has enough back class to get the upset 6 – POWER UNLIMITED(IRE) – has been facing better and is the logical choice here, speed figures alone are lengths ahead of this bunch, but still hasn’t seen the winner’s circle in over a year, not the kind of stat you want to go to the window with at 7/5 1 – SEE THREEPIO(TX) – dangerous speed from the rail and could shake loose here if she uses ‘The Force’ here RACE 5 7 – RECLAIM THE THRONE(IRE) – has been racing against better in recent starts, takes slight drop in here and usually runs well when competing in conditional races 6 – FLOWERS ON TUESDAY(KY) – was in cruise mode over this oval against this type until last outing when she finished 15 lengths back turning in her worse start since November. Start number 55 for this veteran off that last make it hard to take at 4/5 1 – ALL DECKED OUT(KY) – is capable of winning this off best effort, but is a notch below the top two and would have to have things go all her way for the win RACE 6 3 – IF MY WIFE KNEW(KY) – lost by head and nose this oval last two and adds a half of furlong and gets the edge in what shapes up to be a field of well-bred under achievers 2 – FINAL CONFIG(KY) – you have to wonder why a colt that has been running stakes like speed figures hasn’t been able to crack this condition in his last three starts against limited winners…no luck or no heart? 1 – LIL B(KY) – another that has performed well below his pedigree would suggest, connections don’t have much patience for these types and is likely you will find this one in for a tag next out if he turns in another poor effort here RACE 7 10 – DERBY HAACK(KY) – returns to races after a well deserved rest and is well placed for return. First or second all five starts on turf around two turns and should come out running in here 14 – LOST IN THE ALPS(IRE) – the veteran of over 50 starts has been overmatched in last three starts and should find this race more to his liking. Last win came this distance in Florida where he registered a career best 110 speed figure 1 – EL NORTE(IRE) – turned in a solid effort last out closing fast, saves ground here and returns to a mile where he has done he best racing RACE 8 6 – MY REDEMPTION(IRE) – won going away this level this distance last time out and has dead aim in races under six furlongs 3 – WALL OF SOLITUDE(AUS) – ninety percent of this guys 300k in earnings have come while racing on the dirt, but he does have a turf win and will be flying at the end 8 – CREDIT CRUNCHED(KY) – looks like the lone speed in this field and will have to be caught if left to dictate the pace on the front end RACE 9 5 – ROSE’S LION(KY) – turned in an 83 speed figure against older horses this track, this surface, toss last pair in the off going, edge here 3 – BARKSLIKEADOG(IRE) – start number ten, but was well meant last time out and is doing his best racing at this time 7 – RED SPREIGHT(KY) – plenty of speed here and could shake loose if left unattended on the front end RACE 10 3 – OUTBACK MARS(KY) – Street Cry four year old first time starter out of a Giant’s Causeway mare makes his debut against a combined 0-90 field…talk about well-placed 6 – WANTED OUTLAW(KY) – been away from the races since 2009 when he turned in a disappointing debut over the turf course. Giant’s Causeway x Danzig colt switches to dirt for his return and you have to believe better things are to come for this well bred 5 year old RACE 11 2 – LAZY(KY) – don’t be fooled by those average speed figures, this colt is coming off a pair of solid sprints and returns to a mile where he has a 3rd place finish in a Stakes this distance, primed for a huge effort and a new top 3 – RODEO CAL(KY) – had a huge effort last out boasting a lofty 103 speed figure and turns back to a mile off that effort, right back 1 – DISCREETLY BOLD(KY) – morning line favorite bossed around a small field last out that included a stakes winner in open company allowance after turning in a solid second place finish in previous start with a 102 speed figure RACE 12 5 – ONCE WERE WARRIORS(CA) – entered in for a career low 30k tag and even with his best racing behind him, he still has the ability to beat this field 2 – BLUE SKY NIGHT(NY) – showed good speed in a dirt sprint and looks ready for a big run in his return to the turf where he is ten times in the money in thirteen starts 4 – POETRY MAN(PA) – great song by a great artist(Phoebe Snow), not such a great horse, failed twice this condition, this level, this track, best of rest RACE 13
3 – ABRUPTITUDE(NY) – it’s races like these that make a poor argument for local bred racing…1/9 favorite is 30 points faster than these and will probably win this in a jog
RACE 14
13 – EASTER BASKET(KY) – makes her first start at a mile and second start this year. Dead closing mare has picked a good field to display her stretch running ability and could surprise at 3-1
11 – CAPTAIN AWESOME(KY) – second to super daring in the Bouquet of Daisies last out and was second in the G-3 Sabian three back…gets better trip this time around
9 – SUPER DARING(KY) – fresh off a G-3 win in the Bouquet of Daisies last time out this distance and is 10 for 22 lifetime in wins; overlay at 9-1
RACE 15
4 – STAR ANTHEM(IRE) – only stakes runner in this field looks best here with three stakes wins already to her credit
3 – BANE OF KINGS(AUS) – this filly is legit and is handled by one of the top conditioners of the game, so respect there, but the rest of the field are in it for an easy cash
RACE 16
2 – AQUA CAT(NY) – has been first or second in his last seven starts, the last his first stakes victory, repeat
6 – JONES BEACH(KY) – racing in top form, this veteran is capable of a big run every time on the racetrack. Trip digits last six will keep everyone honest here
3 – SKY BATTLE(LA) – LA bred knows all about winning races and is especially adept at it running this distance, 32 of 40 ITM lifetime
