There’s nothing as difficult as calling a horse race correctly when you are drunk. Varying degrees of alcohol consumption can be the difference between confusing two horses with similar colours to believing the grey gelding (who is favourite to win) has missed the start by 10 lengths, when in reality the horse you are focusing on is carrying the clerk of the course (GO SUBZERO !)
The only thing more difficult than calling a race intoxicated is attempting to do so the day after receiving a frontal lobotomy. I am not sure which category todays caller belongs to but either way its a damn fine job under the circumstances…..
