Raziel was only in her second race but she ran like a seasoned veteran in the AP Naskra Stakes today. The $60,000 one mile race for two year old fillies was run on a lightning fast dirt track under warm sunny skies here on a gorgeous autumn New Jersey afternoon.
Raziel and jockey Bell seemed to know just the right instant to tap her with the whip and take off after the leaders. She ended up winning rather easily with a nice 91.5 speed figure. Trainer Blaster6\u2019s Rahy filly has now won her first two races and looked like she is ready to win plenty more. Both races have been at one mile and both times she came from way back to win.
Western Song took the early lead and stretched it out to nearly five lengths at the half. At that point in the race, Raziel was nine lengths back. Medaglia Dancer and Golden Tale reeled in Western Song and it looked like it would be an nice winf for Medaglia Dancer until Raziel caught her half way down the stretch and blew by her like whe was standing still. Co-favorites Golden Tale and Western Song took a disappointing third and fourth in the race.
Blaster6 has to be tickled with his young filly and plans to map out a plan of more stakes wins before the end of the racing season.
