At 6\/5, the bookies sure give the nod to lafly’s Flyphard’s Event<\/STRONG>, earner of over $800k with 13 career victories.\u00a0 The Event Of The Year 4YO often flashes turf sprint brilliance every now and then.\u00a0\u00a0 Currently, he’s been sequestered in the listed stakes level — ‘Event has either won or hit the board in 6 of his last 8.\u00a0 The cutback in distance from his usual 7f running\u00a0may see him explode\u00a0from behind the pace.\u00a0 <\/DIV>

The fave will have to wear down a couple of sassy pacesetters though:<\/DIV>
  • There’s a real good one here in irishpony’s Ton Gleam<\/STRONG> (8\/5).\u00a0 The 5YO Vice Regent grandson throws some superb numbers in the turf sprint ranks.\u00a0 the horse is rarely a winner though — he finally bagged a 6.5f stake at Wisconsin two back as a big fave.\u00a0 Weak jockey though might blow it down the lane.<\/LI>
  • Zwylde’s lightly raced Black Labeled<\/STRONG> (6\/1) should join ‘Gleam on the lead.\u00a0 the Lear Fan 4YO boasts an honest turf sprint ALW record.\u00a0 He’s the\u00a0weaker pacesetter at this point because he has yet to break 100 SP# barrier recently.\u00a0 A so-so jockey in the irons doesn’t help either.\u00a0 Needs his career best in this clas leap.\u00a0 Doubtful.\u00a0 <\/LI><\/UL>
    Two stalkers round out the field:<\/DIV>
    • The Lawnmower Man<\/STRONG> (7\/2) from devilscasa stable could surpirse everyone by jumping out to lead this group.\u00a0 He’s normally a stalker and hasn’t had much luck of late, hitting the board in only 2 of his last 8.\u00a0 The Soviet Star 5YO gets top jock M McClendon and cuts back in distance from 7f running.\u00a0\u00a0 Thaat all might add up to a long-awaited return trip to the winner’s circle.\u00a0\u00a0 Mild sleeper if he can outrun the faves to the wire.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/LI>
    • Sophomore Barb’s Smile<\/STRONG> (14\/1) has really found his forte on the grass, taking 2 of 4 outings.\u00a0\u00a0The Dixieland Band son won two back as a longshot versus his elders, recording a 101 SP<\/STRONG># for the 6.5f.\u00a0 with top jockey G. Giant as pilot, Barb’s Smile has a great chance to spoil the show again if he can bounce back from subpar follow-up.\u00a0 Last to first if at his best…. otherwise a runner-up cheque for kaleigh.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/LI><\/UL>
