Storm has some really nice races at a mile and has done it in front running fashion. Tete for Storm is a vulnerable favorite. Pronunciation is the second choice on the morning line. She also like to be close to the early pace but unlike out favorite she is a little more experienced at this distances.

A look through the field and the top two choices look solid however there is a bunch of speed horses in here that could set up a couple of off the pace horses. Three year old Northerly Nicole has run third at the level two races back. She has been racing at longer distances so the slight cut back she benefit her. She stalks off the pace and could get a dream trip.

Anytime Topicount enters a runner take a close look. This mare won a very good race a few races back and comes from well off the pace. If she has her closing kick today look out. Another trainer you have to watch for is that Meguire. Meguire has a live long shot at 16/1 with Chopping Hill. Chopping Hill looked very good last time out in a stakes win.

Race: 2650.0115 Cherry Limb Stakes – Grade II – $250,000
Track: California
Restrictions: All horses, 3 years old
Distance: A mile and one eighth on the Turf

Puppet Regime worked through his allowance conditions like a maniac. He rolled six straight wins including a listed stakes before coming up short last time out. In his last the distance might have gotten the better of him. He cuts back to a distance he loves and he looks to be the class of the field. It could be a big day for the Puppet.

Colorado Force is a grade II winner at a mile and a half. Now this solid colt cuts back in distance. The cut back may mean some improvement and looks to be one of the few threats to the favorite. Scoobis Zig will likely be the speed of the field and comes off an impressive gate to wire stakes win. If the pace is weak here Scoobis is a threat. Like a Porcupine has run solid speed figures all year long but his lack of wins after winning last year’s Breeder’s Bowl Juvy Turf have been a little disappointing. He comes from off the pace and this field seems within his grasp. Watch for the Porcupine late.

Race: 2650.1615 Big Hill Stakes – Grade II – $225,000
Track: Washington
Restrictions: All horses, 2 years old
Distance: Seven furlongs on the Dirt

Northern Blast leads this group of two year olds. Blast could have waited a week and possibly gotten into the Breeder’s Bowl Juvenile but this seems a much better spot for him. His last run over a mile was solid but his sprint runs have been his best. No sense in pushing him over a mile now if he is good enough he will do what is necessary in the spring to make the Bluegrass Derby. We could be getting a glimpse here of a horse that could be a really good three year old.

Blast will be rolling from off the pace. He will be chasing Dubai Nights. Dubai Nights is a perfect two for two and has done it on the front end. He has some serious speed and will get a class check here. GFW Pegasus and Husker Du are both runners that have been competing well but do not have a bunch of wins. Either one could be sitting on a big race. Nebakanezer is another runner that is unbeaten. He is three for three and will add to the pace with his speed. Sets up for an interesting finish.

Not alot of action this week but these races could be show cases for runners about to blossom.

[4

post-936","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-general
["GET
