It took a great run from Broohar\u2019s young colt in The Ashman to deny a 2nd Triple Crown in the 2 running\u2019s.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As the gates sprung open, it was the same storyline as the 1st 2 legs of the TC. Teejay\u2019s Streets Of Nowhere was going to break out on top and lead the charge through the 1st two furlongs by 2 \u00bd lengths. He was followed in order by Vetts 3 yr old filly Psychosis and Vett\u2019s Get Off Your Duff. Sitting content in 4th was the 2nd choice in Marmac\u2019s closing Hard Bark. Broohar\u2019s The Ashman sat contently in 5th, loping along. As they got to the 6f marker, Streets Of Nowhere was running his typical headstrong race. His lead had gotten to 5 \u00bd lengths now and the order didn\u2019t change much. As they neared the top of the stretch, The Ashman was making huge strides on Streets Of Nowhere. Jacklad\u2019s Big Bad Bern was also taking the bit and making up some ground. As they straightened away for home, it became a 2 horse race. Streets Of Nowhere just needed to get the length of the stretch to conclude his enduring campaign. The Ashman was in full flight. Had the 3 race series taken it\u2019s toll on Streets Of Nowhere? \u00a0As they came to the 1\/8th pole, it was evident that The Ashman was a fresh horse and seemed to be enjoying the marathon distance. He took the lead and surged to the wire a 5 \u00bc length victory. Derby and Preakness winner Streets Of Nowhere ran valiantly through the stretch and held on for place. Jacklad\u2019s Big Bad Bern made a nice run late and finished 3rd.<\/div>\n<div>The Ashman ran the 1 \u00bd race in 2:30 3\/5th\u2019s and earned a 102 speed rating for the effort. He has won 3 starts on 4 attempts on dirt. He is sired by Nayef.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Broohar was estatic about the victory stating \u201cI bred this horse for the Derby and thought he would be able to get a bit of ground.
