Shes Spectacular was the winner of last weeks Spotlight race, tucking in behind the leader and rolling off to win by a little more than a length and paying $12.90.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Unfortunately, I missed her, but felt she had a chance after a pair of decent low-end claimer outings.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

I also missed Lady of Venom who set the pace and finished in second in what turned out to be a two horse race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The drop in distance almost paid off in a win.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Cherry Auror was the heavy favorite (and my third pick) who ran a flat third throughout the race.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

I went out on a limb with this race which looked to be wide open, and turned out to be so.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>My top pick Sudden Honor had nothing to offer and finished dead last.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Second selection Zombie Lunchbreak had a bad run, finishing next to last.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

Time to make things right.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I\u2019ve missed the winner in the last few races and it\u2019s time to end this nasty streak.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Ohio<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> looks to be a good place to get back on track and the focus this week is on the 6th<\/SUP> race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This is a $20k starter allowance race open to all 3 year olds and up which will run at a distance of a mile and a half on a dirt track.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

1\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Soul Exposed\u00a0 <\/SPAN>48-1 <\/SPAN>\u2013Front runner who had some success late summer\/early fall last year.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Looks to favor grass a tad more than dirt as speeds are higher.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Fizzled badly in last going mile and half for first time and showed he\u2019s better off in sprints.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Probably will fizzle out again and is over his head at this level.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

2\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN>Castrovalva\u00a0 <\/SPAN>2-1<\/SPAN>-Claimed in January and been running in starter allowances since with good success with a win and pair of seconds.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Looks good in this field and distance suits with speeds in the 90\u2019s.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has had past troubles over this track finishing well out of money in three tries.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Those came a good 4 years back and that could be past history, but still something to think about.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

3. Demille\u00a0 <\/SPAN>6-1 <\/SPAN>\u2013Horse has been claimed multiple times in 2011 and is onto fifth one this year.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has won last two outings at 16 and 9.5 furlongs with speeds in mid to upper 80\u2019s.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Should get good positioning near front to make late move.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A contender in this one.<\/P>

4.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Roses in Maria\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>9-2<\/SPAN>-Has been a consistent paycheck earner this year, finishing in top 5 in all 6 starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Looks to be in good form with speeds mostly in the mid 80\u2019s.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Could factor into the triples.<\/P>

5.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Master of Kings\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>4-1<\/SPAN>-Since August, this one has brought home a paycheck in each race except once\u00a0 <\/SPAN>for finishing in top 5.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>About \u00be of these were top-3 finishes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Speeds of late have been mid-80\u2019s up to 90.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Another one that factors into triples.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

6.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Boltor\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>54-1<\/SPAN>-Horse is racing well out of his class level.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This guy is a maiden who has speed numbers well below his competition in this race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He looks better in low-end maiden claimers and needs more than the 2-weeks rest between races to properly recover and be more competitive.<\/P>

7.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Zi Chachin\u00a0 <\/SPAN>7-1<\/SPAN>-Put in surprising win in last after being claimed with only one week rest and set career speed mark of 93.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Gets two weeks between races going into this race and I\u2019m not sure that will be met with equal results.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/P>

8.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Merry Men Ch\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>5-2<\/SPAN>-Comes off two excellent races finishing 3rd<\/SUP> at 10f with SP of 97 and recently a 2nd<\/SUP> at mile with SP of 94.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Colt is being asked to go 12 flanks for first time and looks capable with very nice late speed.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The longer run may be the right move his new trainer is planning.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

Merry Men Ch is my choice in this field.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This is his second race back after a near 2-month layoff and his return was pretty darn good.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I think there will be vast improvement off of that and the extra distance should proof very beneficial.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

Catrovalva the favorite is my second choice.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He likes the distance and I\u2019m ignoring his past history on this track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Makes amends here.<\/P>

Several will battle for third spot and I\u2019m giving it to Master of Kings who has been a consistent paycheck earner and gets the edge on others with top jockey Grunhard (29% win) handling the horse..<\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
