This meeting has attracted a good field of 8 horses of which only one came again to have another shot at this Cup. Gotta Go Go came last last year. This year we hope it is in better form. As for this NY Cup it has been held for 11 years and a few very good horses won this race. The best was Firm Idea with a speed of 121 in 2002. The worst speed was in 2009 for Big Stud with a speed of 43. Both of these horses have now been retired and only three jockeys from last year are returning to try and come better than last year. We hope that this G1 race will produce a good result for owners and a good speed but in my opinion the record of 121 will not be broken as well as the one of 43. I believe the field is a very quality one, that the speed won’t be below 80.

1.
Burned out star: A very good quality horse in not in such a bad form since it has been claimed. It goes very well, especially at long distance. The owner was very lucky as this horse has already won 6 races for him. Just one race in G3 and not that good with only a 4 with a speed of 101. In my opinion this horse is more for stakes than a G races but the race is not yet over so there is hope for the owner.

2.
Howling Wind: An impressive form in the last 4 races. A very good preparation for this race with good speeds. True, it never ran in G races but in my opinion for it that will not be a problem if it continues to improve which I think it will. In this race one of the better horses which could even surprise many.

3.
Wolfman has nerds: What can we say about this horse. It has excellent breeding and has been in a changeable form lately. Cannot find form in the big races. In my opinion the owner should keep it on turf and choose easier races. I don’t believe it has a chance among the first three.

4.
Outer Heaven: What a horse. Three wins in strong races, very impressive at this distance. 113 and 116 gives it an advantage over other horses. The owner races it constantly at 10 furlongs which the horse shows with results. If this horse does not win then no horse in this field will.

5.
Tudor Manore: Very good horse of 6 years but still going strong. Good form especially in the last two races. If it continues like this it has a good chance and it could help in this race as it has a jockey who already raced in this race last year. Experience could help for second or third place.

6.
Gotta Go Go: Last year in this race came last. Not in the best form. Did not win in already 5 races but for an older horse not such a bad form. Had a spell 4 months. Being fresh like this it could produce something magic at least we hope. In my opinion if the owner wants this horse to continue which it can, to go easy on him with easier races.

7.
Boseeksthedeal: What can we say about this horse. If we
look at the speed not too bad in the last four races but a worry as it does not have experience in G races. Only one start, if it goes like it did in the last race it has a chance for a place as we can see it has come. Maybe this longer race will suit it.

8.
The Oil Rules All: An older horse which in my opinion did everything that could be done. The form is going down and the owner should choose easier races if it wants to continue as until now. With a bit of rest it could avoid retirement.

Good luck to all.

[2

post-9333","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
