Indiana- A pair of stakes races are on tap for today’s card. The first of 2 added money events which will go as the 15th and 16th races respectively, is the Glitter Gulch Dirt Mare Sprint. A field of 13 fillies and mares will sprint 7 furlongs for a $ 70,000 purse. This is a wide open event as the morning line co-favorites are juicy 6-1 each. Sojourneys’ See Sojo Run, who will break from the 6 hole and be ridden by Kerry Collins, is coming off a game win at a flat mile at West Virginia. The last time she tried this distance was in the Gr2 Distaff Breeder’s Bowl Cap where she finished a respectable 6th. An effort similar to that will make her tough. Fitzgerald’s, Stoners Owns Texas, a 5 year old daughter of Rahy, is also turning back from a mile where she finished an even 4th to the lone F winner Misery Business in the Technically T Dirt Mare Mile at New York. The pace should suit her better here and even though she is very versatile, she is probably most effective at 2 turns.
\tThe Burnt Nijinsky Dirt Route Stakes only attracted 5 runners but some classy 3 year olds are present. One time Derby hopeful Time To Buy, who hails from the Sicko2 stable will break from the rail and gets the services of leading rider Neal Armstrong. The 3 year old son of the hot sire Medaglia D’ Oro, comes off a very eventful 3rd place finish in the Gr3 Chief Snow Handicap. Although he is still looking for his first stakes win, a repeat of his last performance could get him the money.
