Kepler Techyas won the South African Derby convincingly by over 4 lengths with a 95 speed figure. The song of Mineshaft has now earned $200,000 after his third career victory. In my preview I said that I couldn&#8217;t see him being competitive here despite being 3\/1. Well it turns out he did want further which I couldn&#8217;t see. Now ranked 13th in the Long Turf Division, Kepler Techyas has the major Derbies in his sight for the rest of the year. But this time i&#8217;m not doubting him.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Protaras finished in second place coming from midfield to finish 4 1\/4 lengths off Kepler Techyas. His 91 speed figure wasn&#8217;t nearly enough to win this race. He finished the race off nicely but was no match for Kepler Techyas.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Wall Of Gloom made all the running early but faded badly. He still managed to hold onto third but finished over 7 lengths back. His 89 speed figure was considerably down on his 101 before this at 9.5F.
