Zig\u2019s Agenda just got to the wire in time as the chalk favorite in last weeks focused Spotlight race in New Jersey and was also my top selection paying out $3.30 for the win.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>My second pick, Install This didn\u2019t have much run but took third place.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Pep\u2019s Revenge, who was my third pick, got caught at the wire but took second.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I advised readers to use both my second and third pick in the exacta\u2019s with Zig\u2019s Agenda and those who took this advice were rewarded with a not-too-shaby $9.80 payout.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Anyone who was fortunate to use these three in the triples collected $20.10.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

If you are a new reader, I decided to start writing a series of articles which focus attention on the low-end races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Graded races get tons of coverage but little is said on the claimers, allowance, maidens and starter races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Thus I started this series where a random race is chosen for coverage.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>After all, not everyone has a horse in the upper rankings.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

This week we head off to Nebraska<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> and are looking at a Maiden Claimer, which is the second race on the card.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Three year old fillies & mares are running for a tag of $5,000 and will run 8.5 furlongs on a nice fast dirt track.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

1\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The Almighty \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>6-1<\/SPAN>-Returns to 8.5 furlongs after a pair of uneventful moderate sprints.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Tried this distance once with poor results and not looking promising.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Does have best rider in field, Desitter 27% win, which could make a big change.<\/P>

<\/o:p><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/P>

2\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Most Reliable\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>4-1<\/SPAN>-Added 3 pegs in distance when going 9f in last with good second and speed of 73.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Distance running may be his forte.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Worth a shot.<\/P>

3.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Tyrone Shoes\u00a0 <\/SPAN>9-5<\/SPAN>-Takes good size drop from $20k claimers to $5k.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Jumps in distance from 6 furlongs after recent third.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Speeds have been moving upwards, but slowly, most recently tagging a 68 and best thus far.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The distance bump is my concern.<\/P>

4. \u00a0<\/SPAN>Gande Marina\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>5-2<\/SPAN>-Claimed in January, connections moved into dirt mile race and horse closed well to finish third in best speed of 72.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Claimed after fair effort on grass. Wise move to add a bit of distance for this closer, giving more time to make front.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Looks to be in a good spot.<\/P>

5.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>What Matters\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>12-1<\/SPAN>-Horse appears to be in correct level of racing.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has 14 starts and on board twice.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Hitting speeds of 60 have been tough and last race at 9 furlongs was a failure.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>May need a longer break between races, hard to tell what will make this gal wake up.<\/P>

6.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Correct\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>9-1<\/SPAN>-New trainer seems to be trying to get horse to set pace and she tired in last going mile to finish 2nd<\/SUP> with speed of 62, albeit, in a four horse field.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>No speedsters in this field so may be worth trying to wire again.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Not sure they\u2019ll be much success, but I think that maneuver could land a top-five spot and a splatter of purse money.<\/P>

7. Lute of Gold\u00a0 <\/SPAN>7-1<\/SPAN>-Horse hasn\u2019t done well on either dirt nor turf.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Joined new stable after last start and moves back to dirt where speed numbers have been a tad better than grass.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has never been a serious threat in any start thus far but maybe new connections can find right formula.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

I\u2019m going for the price here and taking Most Reliable as my top pick.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Nice improvement in last and looks to be in a good spot.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

Grand Marina<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> could easily taken top pick and should be boxed with Most Reliable in exactas.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Drops a couple of notches in the claiming ranks and returns to favored dirt.<\/P>
