Once again, in an effort to provide Local Bred stakes racing to the “Sim” at-large. The testbarn residency, is sponsoring 4 more Local Bred Stakes Races, in the “LIKEN IT LOCAL” Stakes Series. These 4 races week(4582), are part 2 of a 16 race series. These 4 races are all for 3yr. olds and are all to be run at 8.5 furlongs. The races will again be divided by Sex and Suface:<\/p>\n
ALL FOR 3yr,olds @8.5 furlongs
1.) OPEN DIRT
2.) OPEN TURF
3.) FILLY DIRT
4.) FILLY TURF<\/p>\n
The rules will remain the same, and are very simple:
1.) The races are open to horses of any breeding, other than KY., IRE., & AUS.
2.) 10 spots are being reserved for testbarn residents and 10 spots will be reserved for anybody else, on a first come, first serve basis. Nominations will be taken on the MB forum, under the thread titled, “LIKEN IT LOCAL” NOMINATIONS”. Nominations will be open, 3 weeks prior to the event and will be open for 2 weeks.<\/p>\n
***PHASE 1 CONTESTANTS WILL TAKE PRIORITY and PASSWORDS WILL BE PMed the week prior to the event, for winning nominations.<\/p>\n
In Phase 1 of the series, the races were split, with 2 resident wins & 2 non-resident wins. The class of racing was high & times were swift.The project went off without a hitch and our residents can be proud of their horses & the adminstration of the event. While it was a learning experience, the end result, justified the effort put forth.<\/p>\n
Phase 2 I think will give many of the entrants, their first try beyond a mile and may convince their trainers that they could be derby hopefuls? I also think, that for many of the entrants, this series could be their only legitimate chance at winning a stakes race. Which, without this Series, may never happen. So for the “Sim” as a whole, the Series only has an upside and provides the higher-ups with a vision of what could be?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
