Humility is the second leading points earner and he could go in a different race so this division is wide open. Flying Perfect is the division leader with a win in the Bluebonnet and a second in the Bargain Princess. 2008 winner Lot at Steak is second in the division standings with a win in the Bargain Princess.

Historically this is the slowest run Bargain Bowl event. The record is a respectable 98 speed figure set by Lot at Steak, however the next fastest race posted a 93. Over Highland won the first two runnings of this race.

Slave to Tradition and Meat Cleaver have slugged it out this year in this division. Slave to Tradition won the Death Valley Distaff, with Meat Cleaver finishing second. Meat Cleaver turned the tables in the Summer Distaff beating Slave to Tradition creating a tie a top the division standings.

Slave to Tradition won last year and looks to become the first repeat winner if she goes here. The stakes record was set last year by Slave to Tradition with a 102 speed figure.

This division is really wide open. We have had a different first and second place finisher in each race. Seven runners are separated by five points so the Bargie for this division is on the line with no clear front runner.

Last year saw Recon Shop deny Ten Lost Pyramids bid for three Cougar Bite Classics in a row. Gallic Charm still holds the records for this race with a 101 speed figure, in a time of 2:02 1\/5.

We should have several good story lines this year, as I suspect Ten Lost Pyramids will give it another go and we have Concotelli last years Sprint winner attempting to win at the long distance this year. A filly has hit the board in the last two years and we will likely have a couple of entries this year as well.

Bargain Classic – 9.5f dirt<\/P><\/B><\/U>

This years older division has been controlled by Colonial Golds with a first in the Death Valley Classic and a second place run in the Summer Classic. The three year olds look to be factors in other races.
The past winners of this race usually run a 100+ speed figure. Last year in a closely contested race the top four finishers had 100+ speed figures.
Spare Key still holds the record for speed figure 107 and time 1:54 2\/5. Spare Key is the defending champ and has won this race the past two years. Hustlin Hoosier won the first two runnings of this race. Amber Net was the other winner. Quart Low has hit the board in three straight Classics.
