Making only his second start in over two and a half years, the light grey homebred turned in a less than stellar performance in his return to the oval despite an impressive four wins in fourteen lifetime starts . Eligible to improve, the elder statesman of this field will have his hands full this week against a field of conditioned veterans. Despite this horses’ chances at 23-1, they in no way an indication of these connections abilities to get horses into the winners circle…can’t recommend

GEORGIA PEACHES – trotter’s runner has thrown up some serious numbers over the years and exits the graded ranks into a softer spot this week. Despite the lofty numbers and drop in class, the Dixie Union mare will be taking on the boys for the first time and is coming off a race where she posted her slowest speed since may of 2007, perhaps an indication that her best racing days are in the past. Any return to form will make her a serious contender here…your call

SKULL DRAGGER – scoobi sends a filly to the big dance too this week, as the 6 year old daughter of War Chant looks to hit the board for the first time in four stakes opportunities. Coming off a solid triple digit 3rd place finish LTO in an allowance race in PR, the front running light grey often keeps things interested for three quarters of the race, but as her one win in her last nineteen starts would indicate, loses interest when it counts the most. The 7yo Gone West veteran has been doing some of his best racing in recent starts as he looks to break through the stakes ranks off a steady series of triple digit races. Despite the absence of a stakes victory on his résumé, several stakes winners fell victim to his stretch drive LTO, and has a big shot in this field on Saturday…dangerous

HANSOM RANSOM – irish looks to win his second ESR race this week, and off that eye-popping 111 speed in his last start, the odds maker thinks his 6yo Point Given entry is the favorite to get that done. Lone on the board stakes finish came in a CR owner restricted stakes for 125k way back when we were all less grey, but his veteran hasn’t felt his age yet, and is running at a level that he is quite comfortable with. With a steady series of stakes that have resulted in six stakes victories including a Grade III as a 2yo over the turf, the talented A.P . Indy colts looks to avenge the only hiccup along the way when he gave way to older rivals in the Polish Reality Stakes in July.
