The $500,000 Grade One stakes for 2 year old fillies and mares was run on the dirt course under sunny autumn skies.

The South African bred Moon Queen now has four wins in only seven starts. Three of those are stakes wins and two of them are graded wins. The Victory Moon filly out of Cause I’m Queen has a Giant’s Causeway and Kingmambo pedigree as well. Victory Moon has only 31 offspring in the Sim but this young lady could certainly put him on the map. She loves the lead and had no problem getting enough to hold off her challengers in this race. She won the Little Debutante Grade Three last out so she has two graded wins in a row and they were her best two races as well. She threw an impressive 92 speed figure in this race and looks to like the extra distance.

Hancock Pond came from dead last at the half way point and eighth at the top of the stretch to finish second. If she had a little more real estate she may have changed the outcome of this race as she seemed to have plenty left. Baldo Hollandia passed the fading leaders and held of the hard charging Espresso D’Italia to finish third.

Moon Queen looks like she is on her way and will certainly be a horse to be reckoned with in the near and probably distant future.

[3

post-855","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-reviews
["GET
