The field is made up of the favorite, a 2-1 shot, the second choice at 3-1, then two at 4-1 and two at 5-1. The favorite, Strike When Ready looks to make it 4 graded stakes in a row. Let’s get to the race!

PP #1 Holy Night-Distorted Humor x Real Quiet x Torrential, 3-1 with S Shady up (10.4%)
Stable: Eurydice Stables (NA)
This colt has run in back to back graded stakes at 7 furlongs. Both times he came with a good run, but just wasn’t good enough for the win, finishing 3rd and 4th. Last out, he raced in the G3 Blue Pin. He was in mid pack in the early stages, he moved into 3rd coming around the turn. He couldn’t quite get the win, running 4th beaten only 1. He was awarded a 110 speed figure. Two back he raced in the G2 King’s Play. He again sat in mid pack, came with a run, but didn’t have enough finishing 3rd beaten 1 ¾. I think this colt may be more a 7f type rather than a 6f type so I won’t put him in my top 3.

PP #2 Tskan Kee Ho-Gone West x Giant’s Causeway x Danzig, 4-1 with J Plumber up (11.3%)
Stable: Donnybeisbol and his lovely fake Horsies aka db (State)
This beautifully bred Gone West colt has won more than ½ his races, finishing in the exacta ¾ of the time. Last out he ran away with a listed at today’s distance of 6 furlongs. He was the second choice of four. He sat right off the pace until they turned for home, when he quickened and drew off to win by 3. He earned a 104 speed in his impressive victory. Two back he was 2nd in the G3 King Georgie Sprint. He was 4th coming around the turn; he came with a good run, but couldn’t quite get past the winner only beaten ½ a length. Will be up close early, and might be there at the end.

PP #3 Strike When Ready-More Than Ready x Smart Strike x What A Pleasure, 2-1 with R Whisper up (25.3%)
Stable: Chief Stable Enterprises (Delpenn National)
As mentioned earlier, this colt comes in with 3 straight graded victories, two at 6 furlongs, and one at 7. His last race the G2 Len Knocks took place 10 weeks ago. Another that likes to stalk the pace, he was 2nd early. He took the lead coming around the lead, trying to get a jump on his competition. He fought hard late to win by 1 with a 110 speed figure. This colt has not been out of the exacta since last year. Excluding his try in the G2 Sprinter Stakes about a year ago, he has never been worse than 4th. Might inherit the lead early on, and will be tough to catch.

PP #4 Noir Sin-Sinndar x Gone West x Nureyev, 4-1 with T Rumber up (9.4%)
Stables: Ace Stables (Fans Of 5:00)
This Sinndar 6 year old stretched out to 7.5 furlongs last time out to win by ½ a length. He was 4th of six in the early stages, the coming around the turn, he moved into 3rd. He closed like a train to get up to win by ½ a length with a 108 speed figure. Two back he is another that raced in the G3 King Georgie. He broke last of 10, but at the halfway point, he had improved his position. But he just didn’t bring his game that day, never really making a big move. He passed tired horses late to finish 7th beaten 4 ½. He will be near the back of this short field early, and it will be interesting to see if he comes with his run.

PP #5 Again Chester-Awesome Again x Chester House x Northern Dancer, 5-1 with R Harzheim up (22.7%)
Stable: Zoomr Stables (NA)
This Awesome Again 5 year old has been off form in his last three. Since winning back to back graded in April and May, he has been no better than 6th in three straight grades. Last out he raced in the G3 Diana Ross at 7 furlongs. He broke towards the rear of field, and he never came with any type of run, finishing 10th of 10 beaten 7 ¼. This race was off 8 weeks. Two back he ran in the G1 Cup Of July at 6 furlongs. He again, broke towards the rear of the field, and never was in contention finishing 9th beaten 6 ½.Will be far back early, and is too off form for my liking.

PP #6 Alcapulco Gold-Dylan Thomas x Mineshaft x Fappiano, 5-1 with I Swanny up (7.5%)
Stable: Simply…..Super (Delpenn National)
This 3yo Dylan Thomas Colt tried what he is doing in this one last time out, going against elders. He raced in the G3 Blue Pin at 7 furlongs. He went into the race as the 3rd longest shot. He was in the middle of the field in the early stages. He moved within 3 lengths going around the turn. He finished 2nd beaten only ½ a length; he didn’t have quite enough to get to the winner. He was given a 110 speed figure. Two back he was 6th against his own age group in a listed stake. He sort of ran around in place, finishing 6th beaten 3 ½. Will be in mid pack early, and another that it will be interesting to see if he comes with a run.

Morning Line: 3-1-2-4
Gowans: 3-2-4-1

Good luck to all connections!!

[2

post-8522","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
