The Animal is a Grade 3 race in Deauville France for all fillies and mares 2 years old. They will contest a mile on firm turf and compete for the winner’s share of the $125,000 prize.

1. FIERY CROSS (IRE) 2 year old filly (Cape Cross X Empire Maker X Nureyev) This filly is trained by Correction, and made a dismal start to her racing career. She ran in a sprint maiden and posted a 52 speed and failed to show any talent. Her next start in a mile turf maiden was quite different. Broke from the gate sat off the leaders closed and won with ease posting a 74. She won her next start a mile allowance with an 81 speed. There are some tough horses in this race she will have to be on her game but she can do it.

2. BLUES MEETING (JPN) 2 year old filly (Delta Blues X General Meeting X Eskimo) Trained by Rcdlogans, this filly won her first three starts in a row and two of them against boys. With unusual but nice breeding I am not surprised to see her liking turf. She did try graded company going 7 furlongs last time out; she ran 7th and got closed on. Hopefully she can sit a bit off that pace and enjoy this start. Her best speed is an 80 which she has posted twice. Will need to be tougher to win here.

3. BREST LITOVSK (AUS) 2 year old filly (Haradason X Danzig X Habitat) This filly is trained by Laxe, and bred to love the turf. She is begging for longer distance, her two starts at 7 have her closing and winning or finishing strong. I think she will really like the extra difference. Her top speed of 78 will need to be demolished as there are some monster speed figures already in this race. Stepping up to the mile could give her that boost to get that nice winning speed figure. Good luck.

4. RAINY TRIPS (IRE) 2 year old filly (Rainwatch X Sadler’s Wells X Pacific Native) Trained by Graywolf6, this filly has an interesting last start, the only thing I can think of is the jock fell off. She posted a 7 single digit speed and finished poorly. Even with that poor of a start and obviously little effort to the race I would have waited a bit longer. But she broke her maiden first asking then won an allowance beautifully by 2+ lengths and a 77 speed. Likes the distance as long as that race didn’t hurt her she should be ok and run to potential here.

5. REFERR ROCK (IRE) 2 year old filly (Mujadil X Jungle Pocket X One Way Love) This filly is trained by Windsong91, and took 6 starts to break her maiden. She did break it going a mile on turf with an 82 speed. That shows the talent that has been hiding, but I am unsure if she can get up for the win. The top speed last time out is showing improvement and could show what she can do here. But she will have to run to that performance and beyond to win here. However, I think she will take home a nice check.

6. ROTARIAN (GB) 2 year old filly (Pivotal X Rock Of Gibraltar X Storm Cat) Trained by Enforced, this has to be the most terrifying 2 year old I have ever seen, and I see a lot. 6 wins for 6 starts, including stakes wins. She broke her maiden then an allowance then 4 stakes wins from 6.5 furlongs to a mile. Her last two wins were at a mile and she posted 84 and 85 speeds respectively in those starts. Tough filly to beat and so far unbeatable this trend will likely continue. I know I ducked her and went to a softer race with my horse LOL.

7. PANDORA PINK (KY) 2 year old filly (Unbridled’s Song X Secretariat x Northern Dancer) This filly is trained by Deyoto, and made her first two starts on dirt posting speeds in the 60’s before making the change to turf. That first start she broke her maiden going 6.5 with a 73 speed. There is a lot of potential here but she’s going to have to work very hard and absolutely love a mile to get that purse here. Most of these horses have seen the distance and the level of completion more than once. She is tough and with that breeding and trainer likely will step up and surprise everyone.

Again I don’t pick babies but good luck and every one try to beat number 6 who is 6 for 6. LOL if it’s ever the time for that one to get beat this is it. Now that I have said that, she will probably win as I jinx everything.
