The history of this country goes way back! We are at Surrey for this G2 race, for 2 year old horses and open for both colts and fillies. It is run over 7 furlongs on the turf track and the conditions of the track seems good for the day even though England is know for some rain! The winner in this race may think of going to BB, it may be one of the last chances before they need to train for the big cup in November! The race is called The Boones Farm and is one of eight graded stakes at the Surrey track this week! Is a huge week for the track with all these superstar horses and in this case future superstar horses is competing!

1. SETTE SPIRITI (7/2)(INVINCIBLE SPIRIT x ROSSINI x SPECTRUM):The first of three Irish tagged horses in this race. Have only made 2 starts so far and already made a debut in a graded stakes, finishing fourth. Have been running both the races over 6 furlongs, so this will be another furlong to work with! Will probably be a horse that is just behind the leader of the field and if the tactics work will take over the lead in the middle of the race, he is not a spurter, but he will try to push some extra speed into the race after 3-4 furlongs. Looking at the mare she had a decent career as a dirter and she have only produced a few middle level horses before, this is one of her first that have a big chance at winning a graded race. I believe this horse will be close, but not close enough so he will finish third.

2. FESTEIRO (5/2)(DUKE OF MARMALADE x FASLIYEV x SADLER’S WELLS):This colt is out of Duke of Marmalade and he have started 3 races so far, been second or first on those starts so he usually finish on a pretty decent position. It seems like he wants to be in the lead of an race and the race he won he was in lead from the start! He will need that kind of performance to win this race and I believe he has a fair chance. He is coming from a mare that really like some distance in her race and was normally racing at 12 furlongs and more. This colt will probably be better when he turns three and have more distance. Last race he had he came second in a stakes race and I believe that he will be able to copy that performance, so he is my runner up of this race.

3. SNEAKY FAST (5/1)(FASTNET ROCK x DISTORTED HUMOR x DANEHILL DANCER):This colt have been running in claim race before entering this one. Winning 2 races out of 3, the first race that was a MSW he finished last of 5 horses on the dirt track. He was moved to turf and won his first race there doing 58 on a off-track, the trainer was not impressed and another claim was finished, again winning and here we saw some improvement, as he was doing 72 in that race over 7 furlongs, of course this was also the race when the owner was changed since someone saw the potential of this aussie. He is a scratch breed out of Fastnet Rock with some other good genes there as well. I believe this one have a chance of winning, but more realistic would be a top-3 position.

4. DUTCH RUNNER TED (3/1)(DUTCH ART x HURRICANE RUN x MINING):This colt have started 4 times in his career and winning 2 of them, these 2 wins are in the last two starts so he is coming into this race in really good form. This is the first start he will have in stakes or graded stakes, I don’t think that will disturb him that much though. He raced last race at 7 furlongs on the turf and had an impressive 86 in speed, before he have raced 76, 75 and 61, so he is increasing every race he have started so far! Looking at the mare she was not a huge winner and was rated with grade F. The pedigree is decent though! I think this little fellow have what it takes to be a big horse in the next months and he is my winner of this race!

5. JOYOUS STORM (3/1)(KITTEN’S JOY x STORMY ATLANTIC x FUSAICHI PEGASUS):This 2 year old out of sire Kitten’s Joy started his first race at the dirt track and really got some improvement when he got the chance to switch to turf instead. He have done 4 races on the grass so far and been solid, without the little extra speed to win the stakes. The risk as I see it is that he haven’t started with more then 6 furlongs so far, but it could also be that he likes it longer! Last 4 races he have been producing these speed results 78, 78, 77 and 71. This horse is my outsider today, he may be able to win but it has to do with if he can manage the extra furlong or not. He is scratched breed so I can’t say much about the mare.

6. PENNY GADGET (6/1)(DANSILI x RAINBOW QUEST x THEATRICAL):This is the only mare of the race and she got some really nice pedigree. This is also a horse that have changed owner recently, this was not done during a claim race, this one was sold in the auction for $1,400,000 and it may have been well spent money! I don’t think we have seen the potential in this one yet. The new owner started at turf instead dirt (as the previous owner had) and that made a huge impact right away! Going from a 58 and a 54 on dirt to a 75 on turf. The mare was a really solid mare as 2yo and then continued with a decent start as 3yo then doing a few good starts in a row, then the she didn’t want to run anymore! In this race she will have a chance for a good position but I doubt she will be the winner of the race.

Always tough to predict the outcome of the 2yo races, not that many starts and they are still improving and trying the different surfaces. I this race I would say that all are able to be top-3, but the winner will be among four of these horses!

To win this I would say that the speed have to be between 85-90 and for a top-3 position I would say that the horse need to perform above 80. We will see if we have a future star among this 6 horses? I guess they all have the potential but we still know to little about what they prefer and how fast they can be!

This will be the top 3 from my view and I also have my outsider for the race:
1.
