<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
The Pricess Di Cap, one of the premier races in the world for fillies and mares during the middle of the year. A win here will put\u00a0a horse right near the top of the division. A win here guarantees sim immortality as a Grade 1 winner. A loss here is not the end of the world but may be a learning point and a starting point for bigger things down the road. We have an evenly matched field of eleven lined up with the favorite starting at 9-2 and ten of the eleven are at 11-1 or better. Eleven runners, one winner and ten losers. Lets take a look at this world class field:<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
Drawing the rail is CIRCLE OF HOPE. Going postward for Desperado stables, CIRCLE OF HOPE has won nine of her sixteen starts for earnings of a bit over $335k. A multiple Grade 3 winning daughter of Strong Hope, CIRCLE OF HOPE has only recently switched to the turf. She has won three of four starts including the Grade 3 “Board Game Distaff” before closing too late in the Grade 1 “Foul Mouth” last out when she was fifth. She is stretching out another eighth of a mile for this which should not be a problem as she handled it on the dirt. CIRCLE OF HOPE’s best speed figure of 112 would make her a big contender if able to repeat it. She has regressed her last two and needs to turn it around as this field may be tougher than she faced last out. I see her sitting closer to the back of the pack in the early running and making one big late charge. CIRCLE OF HOPE is very talented but not sure if she is this kind yet.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
Next in post position number two is Livestrong racing’s Grade 1 winning 4yo filly by Pivotal, ELYSIUM FIELDS. While she has won with three of her five starts on the year, ELYSIUM FIELDS just hasn’t found the Grade 1 winning form of her 3yo season. Overall she has won half of her eighteen starts for earnings in excess of $650k. Last year she won the Grade 1 “French Diana” and the grade 2 “Heidi Fleiss” before her form took a turn for the worse once she began to tackle older foes. <\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>She is a confirmed front runner and will be making her second start off the layoff. This is a big step up in class to what she has faced recently and ELYSIUM FIELDS\u00a0 will need to step up her game to make an impact here.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
Empire City Racing brings us our third entrant, TWELVE BENS. A 4yo daughter of Giant’s Causeway, TWELVE BENS has been first or second in eight of seventeen starts and has earned over $150k. She has multiple stakes placings but has yet to really challenge in graded company. TWELVE BENS is riding an eight race losing streak against lesser which does not bode well for one trying to win one of the premier turf races in the world. She did run very well to be second in the listed “Wooden Ninja Challenge” last time out in which she matched her 106 speed figure which may point to improvement but this is a tough place to improve. She will be rating more towards the back of the field and will need a lifetime best effort to not stay back there. TWELVE BENS should be making a belated bid to pass tired rivals late and may be able to steal a minor award.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
From the fourth position, Tazdevil racing sends out the Grade 3 winning mare RENA. A 5yo by Red Ransom, RENA has earned just under $300k with her eight wins from seventeen starts. She ran a career best speed figure of 108 when pulling the slight upset in the Grade 3 “Grove Of Locusts” last time out. Her only Grade 1 try was a fifth place finish in the “Ugly Breeders Bowl Distaff. RENA has been in real good form lately and with a slight move forward she can make her presence\u00a0 felt here. She is another who will be behind in the early going and making a big late charge. A big positive in RENA’s favor is the stakes win she had here last year when upsetting the listed “Queen Of Diamonds Special”. She seems to really appreciate the surface and combined with her recent form, RENA is a solid contender for win honors.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
Next in line CHEF PEPIN gets sent out for Smokeglack stables. This 3yo multiple Grade 1 placed filly by sire Haradasun will be taking on older rivals for the first time. Her resume is impressive with second place finishes in Grade 1 “The Filly Grand Prix”, Grade 1 \u00a0“The Juvenile Filly”, The grade 1 restricted “Northern Dancer Romp” along with third place finishes in the Grade 1 “Breeders Bowl Filly Juvenile Turf” and Grade 2 “Pioneer Boulevard Cup”. While CHEF PEPIN’s resume looks good, this race is tougher than she has ever faced. Her speed figures just do not yet stack up. She is another deep closer in this field but it will be hard to finish with the best of these. CHEF PEPIN has a promising career in front of her but this looks to be just too much too early in her career.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
In post position six, FIVE DEAD from the Given stables. A daughter of A.P. Indy,\u00a0\u00a0FIVE DEAD has earned over $1.2 million in her eight wins from nineteen starts. She is a multiple Grade 1 winner as she took home the “Empire Rose” and “Last Woman” stakes last year. FIVE DEAD has a nice second in the Grade 1 “Breeders Bowl Game” two starts back but has really tailed off this year. Besides the grade 1 placing, she has just an allowance win in her six tries this year. FIVE DEAD\u00a0 won a very tough restricted race here last summer so this turf course will not be a problem and her seven career speed figures of 107+ make her a solid candidate. FIVE DEAD will race from mid pack which will enable her to get the jump on many of the late closers in this field. She will need to run better than she has recently but that is not out of the question. FIVE DEAD should make a good account of herself.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
SKY’S GRAY goes from post number seven for Oneworld stables. A multiple stakes winner and Grade 3 placed mare by the sire Sky Classic, SKY’S GRAY has won eight times from forty trips to post and earned a bit over $450k. SKY’S GRAY has not been in the best of form recently as she has only one allowance win in her last nine races and her speed figures have been very light for this level with her top recent is a 106 in an allowance loss. She will be racing mid pack in the early going and will need to get faster to compete in this spot. SKY’S GRAY was never a factor last time out in the Grade 3 “Grove Of Locusts” and takes on that winner again. She will have a tough time making any sort of impact against this field.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>

Next up from post position number eight is our morning line favorite, going to post for Circusham Stables, is INCESSANT. A regally bred 4yo daughter of Awesome Again, INCESSANT is a six time Graded stakes winner including the Grade 2 “Blood Bond” and the Grade 2 “Sandy Ring”. She has won twelve of twenty starts for earnings of over $1.2 million. Her current form is tremendous as she has won four of seven. INCESSANT has huge speed figures topping at 116 and set to improve on her 106 last time out when third in a Grade 2. INCESSANT is another closer in this field and she may be the best of them. Her biggest downfall is her previous Grade 1 efforts. Twice she has tried and twice she really found the going too tough. Nonetheless, she looks very live in this spot. INCESSANT is the deserving favorite.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
In post nine we have SKULLCRUSHER who is sent out as the other half of an uncoupled entry from the Given stables. This 6yo mare by Awesome Again has earned over $3.1 million dollars while winning 15 races of the thirty eight in which she has tried. A five time Grade 1 winner, SKULLCRUSHER has had a remarkable career. Unfortunately her form has begun to deteriorate as she has not run a 100 speed figure in three of her last four. She was very dull off the layoff last time out against allowance foes as the odds on choice and will need to find her previous form to contend in this spot. SKULLCRUSHER has tactical speed which is a proven commodity in a race without much speed. She should lay close to the lead here and will try to allow her class to take her to the wire. I would not count out a star of this caliber on any day. SKULLCRUSHER will need to dig deep but she may just have one more left.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
In the tenth slot we find REIGN IN HADES G from stable Pgpg. A 4yo by E Dubai, REIGN IN HADES G has won ten of thirty three career starts for almost $950k. She is a Grade 1 winning sprinter and a grade 2 winning router\u00a0 but is currently riding a six race losing streak. Last September she won the Grade 2 “Malobar handicap” but just never really moved forward off that effort. At times, REIGN IN HADES G shows flashes of talent by running huge numbers but also has a tendency to run clunkers. She looks to be best at a flat mile and she may just find this distance a bit much. REIGN IN HADES G has a lot of early speed but its pressing speed. She will ensure a fast pace and if she can produce one of her huge numbers she can be competitive. However I am just not sure she wants to tackle grade 1 ladies right now.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
And rounding out this stellar field we have LADY BY DAY, sent out by michaelo stable. A now seven year old Grade 1 winning daughter\u00a0of Gone West, LADY BY DAY has won nineteen career races and earned over $1.1 million in a career spanning fifty races. She has run speed figures over 100 in twenty one of her last twenty seven races. She was a very good third in this race last year and has won over the surface previously. <\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>LADY BY DAY seems to have been regressing her past few starts against much lesser which does not bode well for a try in a race of this caliber. LADY BY DAY has the speed figures to compete, has the back class to compete but still may just not be prepared to tackle this company.<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
<\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/DIV>
