The favorite, Alex English will be blazing early, so will it be a race for the closers? Or will the even money favorite’s class come through?

PP #1-Combat Rogue-Dynaformer x Cat Thief x Miswaki, 6-1 with M Staples up (15.5%)
Stable: Lucky Stables (Northwest Racing Circuit)
After posting a 109 speed figure in a G3, this mare has tailed off badly in two straight G1s. But, she has gotten almost a 3 month rest from her last race. This highlight of this 5yo mare’s career came three back in the G3 Exit Stage Left. She went gate to wire, winning by 2 lengths in a dazzling time of 1:41:2. But her last two have been lack-luster, not getting the lead in both, and getting beat a combined 29 lengths. Will be tracking the favorite, this means I don’t see her getting the lead, which won’t be a good thing for her.

PP #2 County Road-Street Cry x Unbridled x Strike The Gold, 8-1 with R Simcox up (10.8%)
Stable: Beach Stables (NA)
This Street Cry 4yo filly has run mostly in the “long” division the past year and a half. But two back in the Orange Blossom at 8.5 furlongs, she came from far behind, 10 lengths, to get into 6th, beaten only 4 ½. The amazing fact is, this filly and only one other filly were not graded winners in that outstanding G1 field. Also, there were five millionaires in the field. Last out in a 11 furlong listed stake, she was through early, never getting into the race, beaten 13 ½ lengths. Should be far back early, and if a speed duel occurs, she will be coming late.

PP #3 Hollow Bay-Beat Hollow x Rahy x Green Desert, 5-1 with B Peeples up (7.7%)
Stable: Conquest Farms (GR Simsters)
This 6yo mare with “turfy” breeding comes in off a pair of allowance victories. Before these two wins, she hadn’t won since 2008. Last out in a NW2Y allowance, she came from almost 10 behind, to win by 1 ¾ out finishing rivals. Two back in a NW1Y allowance, she was a little closer, and came from 5 behind, to win wrapped up by 2 ¾. In both these allowances, she earned 102 speeds. This mare is very consistent, being on the board almost ½ of the time, another that could benefit from a speed duel. With her consistent record, she could be coming late.

PP #4 Monarc-Maria’s Mon x Danzig x Seattle Slew, 5-1 with S Webb up (9.5%)
Stable: Autumn Wind Acres (Minnesota Downs)
This 5yo mare has really come off form this year, after twice being G2 placed last year, she has not come close to win a race this year. She comes into this one off an 8 week rest. After running a 112 for 2nd in a G2 last year, her best speed this year is a 102 in a mile listed stake. She has been lightly raced this year, only racing three times. Last out in a listed stake, she sat right off the leaders, until she dropped out as the favorite to finish last beaten 9 ¼. Should be right off the pace in the early stages, and needs a big return to form to hit the board.

#5 Mau Mau-Giant’s Causeway x A.P. Indy x Sadler’s Wells, 3-1 with O Brim up (10.8%)
Stable: Given Stables: Fire and Blood (GR Simsters)
This regally bred mare has not routed since her 2008 season as a 3yo. She does have a good record when she goes longer though, winning three out seven, and finishing 2nd in two. Only off the board six out 26, she has been in the top five in all but two. Last out in the G1 Humane Distaff at 7 furlongs, before coming late, she was 9 ½ down. She flew late to get 4th, only beaten 2 ½, beaten ¼ of a length for 3rd. She is 1 for 1 at the distance, and would be the best choice to beat the favorite.

PP #6 Alex English-Kingmambo x Seattle Slew x Unbridled, 1-1 with A Lewis up (12.4%)
Stable: Astins Place (EAAA Racing)
Very nicely bred, very nice record, very nice horse! Only off the board twice, both being 4ths, both being in G1s. But, this 4yo filly’s only start on dirt came two back in a listed stake at a mile. She showed her usual running style, taking her a big lead. As the heavy favorite, she had a 6 ½ length lead going into the lane, but hot nipped at the wire, beaten a head. But, she did run a blazing 1:33:3, earning a 114 speed figure. Figures to have the lead early, G1 winner, has the class if she wants to win.

Morning Line: 6-5-3-4
Gowans: 6-5-1-2
Winning Speed: 109
Time: 1:41:1

Good luck to all connections!
