A correct win bet returned a sum of $18.60. At the tale end of the Saturday afternoon, the lool Oaks (G1), race number fourteen, would come up on the card on what was a sunny Saturday afternoon. Fourteen fillies had drawn into the race this weekend, nearly all with a chance to do well and sprig their racing career forward. Early on during the post parade bandinni’s filly Awesome Chance was wired and not settling down throughout the post parade. When the field made their way through the parade they went to enter the gate where Haack’s Brown, the filly owned and trained by xhaack was hesitant to load into the gate. Once the field was finally loaded into the gate, tense moments passed as they waited for the start.
As the gun went off tedstables filly Pejorative T went off to an early lead by a quarter of a length, breaking from the six post. It wasn’t surprising to see this speedy filly out in front ahead of second-place runner Realms Of Fear, trained by sdmf2 to her outside. She is another speedy filly that we thought would likely contend for the lead, though for now she was content sitting slightly off the pace. Grand Mom, owned by graywolf8 was running along to their inside just a few strides off the other two who were nearly running neck and neck with each other now. The filly under jockey J. Gomez was also running as she was expected early on. Again, not too far off them and trying to look for room between to two dueling speed horses was the filly, Causeway Queen, trained by goldsmith. Behind them, though not too far off in fifth and sixth positions were Brush With A Skunk and Ignorify, owned and trained by skunktime and squirrel respectively. Trailing the field early on in the race was xhaack’s Haack’s Brown, who showed hesitation early on about going into the gate in this race. However, running far back in the field was business as usual for this filly.
Pejorative T went on to run right neck and neck with her advisary Realms Of Fear, neither filly willing to give an inch to the other. On the outside Causeway Queen was already starting to make an early move in the race, overtaking Grand Mom. Also moving up with her and into forth position was Incredible Rippa, owned by tg1. Second betting choice in the race Epsilon Cat, trained by wortud began moving up as well and was now running in sixth just two and three-fourth lengths off the leaders of the race. Ignorify started dropping back. Broohar trained Glorious Moon was also beginning to move up into eighth position, passing by race favorite Hard Indian, owned by taylormade. At the back of the field now was Awesome Chance, perhaps her erratic behavior during the post parade beginning to take its toll on the filly.
Towards the final turn Causeway Queen would take command of the race away from the two dueling fillies who had worked themselves down in the last stages of the race until they were too tired to contend with the fresher horses in the back conserving their energy. Second choice Epsilon Cat was running right a length and a half behind Causeway Queen now. Running right alongside Epsilon Cat and to her immediate outside was Incredible Rippa. Race pacesetter Pejorative T was now back in fourth about a half length ahead of Realms Of Fear. From out of nowhere near the back of the pack Taylor’s Story, owned by deyoto3 was flying. She started back much further in the race than we were expecting, but now she was making up for it. Ignorify was still holding her own in seventh in front of Glorious Moon. Now in ninth position Brush With A Skunk was moving up while the favorite Hard Indian was dropping back. The favorite was obviously not on her game today. Jeffsbarn’s Hawaiian Gold wasn’t getting much of anywhere in the race while Grand Mom was certainly struggling now and had definitely dropped out of winning contention. Haack’s Brown still wavered at the back of the pack although she was starting to move forward on the pace. Awesome Chance continued to run at the back of the field, trailing by thirteen and three-fourth lengths.
Down the stretch they came with Causeway Queen in the lead. However, after even settling behind such a blazing pace at the start of the race, the filly was beginning to wear down. There weren’t many challengers that were coming after the brown daughter of top sire Giant’s Causeway (IRE) though. There was only one, Taylor’s Story, the filly who had shot forward out of the rear of the pack like a rocket in the turn, going around a wall of horses and passing them like they were standing still. Having a two and a quarter length lead wasn’t much of a cushion for the tiring filly out in front and the chestnut filly closed in on her with every stride. Eventually Taylor’s Story drew even with Causeway Queen on the outside, and then going by her. No one was going to catch the closer from the back of the pack. Taylor’s Story, under jockey W. Mauirello went on to win the race in 1:42 2/5 by two and a quarter lengths with a speed figure of one hundred two, tying a lifetime best for the chestnut daughter of Distorted Humor. Finishing in second was Causeway Queen followed up by Epsilon Cat.
Also Rans: Brush With A Skunk, Incredible Rippa, Haack’s Brown, Glorious Moon, Ignorify, Pejorative T, Realms Of Fear, Hawaiian Gold, Hard Indian, Awesome Chance, and Grand Mom.

[2

post-7934","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
