When a tiny field of 4 lined up for the running of this years Pan Americana Handicap<\/STRONG>\u00a0\u00a0over a mile and a half, it was always going to be a test of grit and tenacity and add to that the drama of an upset win and this race had it all.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/P>

1ST\u00a0– BAD MAGIC(WA) \u2013 lip <\/EM>\u2013<\/STRONG> Sat behind the favourite for most of the race and peeled of heels at the right time to win stylishly. Trained by lip who races under the tsunami<\/EM> banner. A superb training effort for a horse that was racing in claimers and $4000 starter events just six starts back. Ran an SP# of 96 en route to winning by 1 3\/4 lengths.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/P>

2ND\u00a0– RICH UNCLE(KY) \u2013 pokemyeyeo <\/EM>\u2013<\/STRONG> Led the race into the final stretch but just couldn\u2019t match it with the winner when they put the accelerators to the floor. Yet another race that adds to this horse\u2019s tally of near misses. He is fast becoming a perennial bridesmaid.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/P>

3RD\u00a0\u2013 S R VIOLIN(AUS) \u2013<\/STRONG> recnrichie \u2013<\/EM><\/STRONG> Sat last and past just one horse in the straight. Looked to be a chance at the 2 furlong mark but just could not sprint with the top two finishers. In the end he was beaten 5 \u00bd lengths. Has led in the past on many occasions but the change of tactics here did not seem to pay off.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/P>

4TH – \u00a0SKY(KY) \u2013 fiend<\/EM> \u2013<\/STRONG> When the field turned for home this guy was left standing and finished 15 lengths away from the winner. This was his first real test over a trip this long and the experiment may not have worked.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/P>
