There doesn’t look like much speed in the field, some mares coming off Equinics, and some coming off tough listed stakes and allowances.

PP #1 Taku Eats Peaches-Sky Mesa x Secretariat x Northern Dancer, 10-1 with T Bates up
Owner: Longplain Taku Stables (NA)
This 4yo Sky Mesa filly comes off a big effort going 9f in an allowance. She was 2nd, but she was beat by the G1 winning Elysium Fields. She closed like a train, but was 1 ¾ lengths short. She was as much as 11 lengths back early. Two back she won a 10f allowance by almost 6 lengths, pulling away in bunches late. She almost got the win in the G1 Yellow Submarine, but again was 1 ¾ lengths short, finishing 3rd. She was beaten by a millionaire, but also beat three millionaires. Should be closing late, so this mare is interesting at 10-1, not sure she can win, but worth a shot for 2nd or 3rd.

PP #2 Suzy’s Awesome-Awesome Again x Danzig x Nijinsky II, 6-1 with A Lewis up
Owner: Balata Golf Resort (Hong Kong Racing Club)
This blueblood filly is out of Suzjinsky, who earned more than 3 million as racer and also won the BB Distaff by 7 lengths. She has already produced 60% graded winners as a broodmare. This filly has been a bit inconsistent, but she always runs honest. Last out she ran against a full field of 14 in the G2 Mountain Vista at a mile. She finished 6th, but only beaten 4 ½. But two back, she put up a nice effort, winning by 1 ¾ in the 9f G2 Remember Stakes. She should be up close early, with not much speed in the race, but needs a step up for my liking at 6-1.

PP #3 Of Montreal-Giant’s Causeway x A.P. Indy x Danzig, 9-2 with F Griffen up
Owner: Astins Place (EAAA Racing)
Another blueblood filly, this one by Giant’s Causeway. She went back to dirt last time out, she was 2nd, but was only beaten 2 ½ by a stakes winner whose earned almost 500,000. Two back, she ran in the G2 Horse Station at 9f on turf. She ran one of the biggest races of her career, winning by 4, with a whopping 109 speed figure. She closed from 15 back. She is a VERY consistent mare, never finishing worse than 6th, and only finishing out of the money five times. She should be far back early, but closing well late, if there’s any pace up front. Always seems to run good in grades, so a good bet at 9-2.

PP #4 Alayaya-A.P. Indy x Awesome Again x Sadler’s Wells, 5-2 with O Brim up
Owner: Given Stables: Fire and Blood (GR Simsters)
ANOTHER blueblood filly, this time a millionaire. Last out this filly flew home in a listed stake at 8.5f. She was 8 ½ down turning for home, but couldn’t catch the leader; she was beaten ½ a length. She did face a tough field though, beating home two stakes winner, whose earnings combines to be about 750,000. Her record at 9f is a little shaky though, with 3 starts, and the best finish being a 4th. She should be in 5th or 6th early. This Given filly has a lot of class, but is a risk to take as the 5-2 favorite.

PP #5 Skunking Alishan-Kingmambo x Seattle Slew x Danzig, 15-1 with M Billig up
Owner: Skunkbarn Stables (Blazing Saddles)
Yet another blueblood, this filly named for former Blazing Saddles resident alishan, ran in an Equinics event last out. But it wasn’t on turf; it was at 10f on dirt. She pressed the pace early, but backed up to finish 16th, beaten 21. But, the good news this race is on the turf, and she is pretty much lone speed. Two and three back, she went gate to wire, posting 101 and 107 speed figures. Two back she won a listed stake at a mile on the lawn. She won by 1 ¼. She should be on the lead early, but needs to step it up to be in the lead late, could stick around for 3rd or 4th though.

PP #6 Guineas Toast-Kingmambo x Nijisnky II x Nureyev, 9-1 with M Staples up
Owner: Shamrock Stables (Walmtk) (Blazing Saddles)
Another blueblood, another millionaire. This filly makes it back to back Blazing Saddles entrants. Last out she ran in the G1 Hong Kong Mile, part of the Equinics. She didn’t run great, but she was 10th, only beaten 8. She came home with a 100 speed figure. The outside mare, Culinary Cutie has been trading punches with this one. In Equinics, Culinary Cutie beat her by ½ length, but three back in a DPCD event, she beat Culinary Cutie by 1 ¾. Every once in a while, she will show up with a big effort. Can’t rely on her, but might pop in with a big effort.

PP #7 Giant’s Treasure-Giant’s Causeway x Seeking The Gold x A.P. Indy, 5-1 with L Jones up
Owner: Dixiedotco Racing (Pastures Of Green)
And the Bluebloods continue, this filly won a listed at 8.5f easily last out. She closed from last, to win by 2 ½ wrapped up late. She earned a 107 speed figure. Last year, she had a tough campaign, and came close to winning some key 3yo filly races on turf, but always seemed to come up short. She was 2nd in the G2 Lake Flacid, and 4th in both the G1 QE2 Challenge and G2 Jersey City. She is another consistent filly, never finishing worth than 6th. She has had only 2 weeks since her last, is always consistent, but needs a tiny step up to win.

PP #8 Culinary Cutie-El Prado x Gone West x Seattle Slew, 3-1 with F Gossett up
Owner: Gipper Stables(Universal Racing Club)
The class of the field, a former BB Mile winner, this mare has earned more than 3.2 million dollars. Last out she ran in the G1 Hong Kong Mile, an Equinics event. She finished 9th beaten 7 ½. She sat in an unusual position for her, being back as much as 8 lengths back. She came home with a 100 speed figure. Her last three have all been G1’s, three back winning by ½ a length, two back 2nd, beaten by 1 ¾. Then last out in the Equinics. She should be sitting right off the pace early, probably in 2nd, and the class relief gives her a big shot.

Morning Line-4-8-3-7
DRF.com-3-8-1-5
Brisnet.com-8-4-6-2
Equibase.com-8-3-4-7
Gowans-3-8-6-1

Good luck to all connections!

[2

post-7874","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
