With a gigantic closing rush, <\/SPAN>THE BEGGAR KING<\/B> took home the top money this past Saturday in the G3 Buccaneer Stakes at Northern Florida, cementing a position high amongst the top 3yo colts for the 2010 springtime racing season.<\/SPAN><\/FONT>
<\/P>

When asked as he left the winners’ circle about upcoming plans, trainer <\/SPAN>khalasar<\/SPAN><\/I> started to go into \u201ctrainerspeak\u201d, saying that he’d let the horse make the calls, but he added, \u201cYeah, I can’t resist strong consideration for the Triple Crown races for \u201cThe King\u201d. He sure looks the part! Don’t think I won’t be watching the other big Derby preps…\u201d<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>
<\/P>

SUMMERINSARATOGA<\/SPAN><\/B> ran a strong race, building a nice lead in midstretch before \u201cThe King\u201d ran him down. It was clearly his strongest two-turn performance to date, pleasing trainer <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>chloedawg.<\/SPAN><\/I> \u201cI’ve always thought the world of this colt, and it looks like he’s starting to understand the game a little more. I’m not sure if he wants to go any further, but he showed he can be a good miler at least today.\u201d<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>
<\/P>

SENSIBILITY<\/B> was right in the thick of things throughout, but lacked that big punch when he needed it. Still, his 3rd-place finish was solid, and <\/SPAN>boldrule99<\/SPAN><\/I> didn’t seem too displeased with the effort<\/SPAN><\/SPAN>.<\/SPAN><\/FONT>
<\/P>

HOLY BRAT<\/B> closed well for fourth money, giving future hope for the <\/SPAN>banterror<\/SPAN><\/I> barn.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>

The biggest disappointment was the lackluster fifth-place run for the favorite, <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>ZIGGY HEARTED<\/SPAN><\/B>. \u201cThe jock said he didn’t seem to get ahold of the track today, so we’ll be looking for a good spot to try this colt again real soon\u201d, said trainer <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>unshaded99<\/SPAN><\/I>.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>
