Hello everyone and welcome to Hong Kong for the running of The MARQUET RATE Challenge. The weather is fine and a big turn out today for the 3 stakes races. It’s a good card of racing, but we’ll focus on race 10 of the day.<\/p>\n
The MARQUET RATE Challenge All 4yo and up horses on dirt over 2100m and $45,000 prize money up for grabs.<\/p>\n
Let’s take a look at the field.<\/p>\n

Eight year old horse by Sakhee and the second favourite of the race. Is out of form and has raced his last four starts in stakes with last placing in all the races. Has had a win on 2200m with a speed of 100, but that was almost four years ago. Has had nine attempts at stakes and one in grade one for no wins or placings. Came up against the favourite 2 months ago in the TINKER’S SECRET(IRE) Stakes for a 30 lenght last. This is alot easier company than he has been racing against, but I think he’ll find this to be to hard. <\/p>\n
PP#2 1312 FIFTH SKULL dan1 R Rice 25\/1 11YO F
ST: 68:6-8-11 M: $81,501 BS: 93 L5S: 31523<\/p>\n
11 year old mare by Dancing Again and the long shot. Has been racing in low allowances with a top five finish in all her races for the new stable. Her best speed was 93 and that was at 1600m, so this might just be a bit to long for her. Has finished third twice at stakes level, but that was when she was alot younger. Has good form but will struggle at the distance. <\/p>\n
PP#3 172843 YOU KNOW WHY(IRE) hpower1 V Perryman 1\/9 4YO M

4 year old horse by Westerner and the favourite of the race. Has the best speed by far and looks to classy for the field. Very lightly raced and form before his last start is very impressive. Forget about his last start in the group 3 Wicker Sofa Stakes it was just to short for him. Looking very well and I suggest everyone gathers everything they have and put it all on him. He will absolutely destroy the field and make them look like they are running backwards. All I can say about him is that he is unbeatable in this race.<\/p>\n
PP#4 159140 ISHARIKI(KY) mladost2 Y Mills 18\/1 4YO M
ST: 26:2-4-3 M: $79,499 BS: 78 L5S: 00000<\/p>\n
4 year old by Castledale (IRE)and the second long shot of the race. Well what can I say about this horse his last nine starts he has finished last and I think that speaks for itself. Has changed stables and that might help but I think he will enjoy watching the race from the back of the field.<\/p>\n
PP#5 50256 SATURDAYS WITH RI(KY) ezyfrag6 H Ly 11\/1 4YO F
ST: 19:2-5-2 M: $64,488 BS: 86 L5S: 26200<\/p>\n
4 year old mare by Any Given Saturday and our third favourite. Looking at her last start over 1800m she was three quarters away from the leader but in the last quarter she lost 13 lenghts. Doesn’t seem to be able to finish her races off. Has always gone from the front and i suspect she will try the same today but maybe it’s time to try and run her from the back Jason. Will lead at the start but will get run down by You Know Why at the half way mark and then I predict a slow gallop to the line for her.<\/p>\n
Ok so there’s our field not the best field ever, but each horse and owner trying to get to the line first. I think it will be a very interesting race for the minor placings, but without a doubt You Know Why can’t lose unless he breaks down. Which I don’t see happening as he is looking fit as a fiddle. <\/p>\n
