There are three runners at 9/1 on the morning line but really any number of these horses could win on their best days. Let’s take a look at the field.

#1 Resounding No 12/1

A picture of consistency, Resounding NO has been first or second in four of his last five starts with the only hiccup coming over an off track. During that period he was won three grade two races including his most recent start, the De La Fore. His three wins came with speeds of 112, 112 and 116. This four year old son of No Nay Never based on the grade two winning Invincible Spirit x Shamardal horse Feel the Spirit has been a stakes performer since his two year old season. He is a horse who will be coming from well behind but he’s shown he knows where the wire is and how to get there first.

#2 Executive Derision 15/1

The winner of last season’s Grade One Sovereign Stakes, Executive Derision has also been a stakes performer in all three of his seasons. He’s been a bit inconsistent this season but scored his only win of the year in his most recent start, the Grade Two Sprinter Stakes. That six furlong event saw him go straight to the front and never look back while running a 111 speed. That was a big change of tactics for the four year old son of Extreme Choice. The last time he was on the lead at the first call was back in his two year old year. He was produced by the grade three winning Orfevre x Sadler’s Wells mare Mimosa Barbara. Her three year old son of Camelot is also a grade one winner.

#3 Hermod Star 33/1

Entering off two straight graded wins is the three year old Hermod Star. Two starts back he took the Grade One Sovereign Stakes and most recently he won the Grade One Saints and Sinners. In the first of those races he ran a 106 speed but he exploded in the second, winning with a 114. He is a confirmed come from behind horse but that last speed puts him right near the top with this field. He’s also shown a nice progression going from back to back 101s to a 104 to the 106 and 114. He’s certainly peaking at the right time. Hermod Star is a son of Zoustar based on the grade two winning No Nay Never x Dark Angel horse Coc Tat Strong Leg.

#4 Bourbon Heist 18/1

Five year old mare Bourbon Heist has faced males one other time in her career in this year’s Grade One Sand Castle Turf Sprint. She didn’t fair well that day but she has been dominant against her own sex. Last year she won the Grade One Fujimoto Turf Sprint and this season has added wins in the Grade Three Summer Hat and the Grade Three Racer Dave. In that six and a half furlong spot she sat in third, letting the two front runners get well ahead before pouncing down the stretch and winning by a length and a half with a 111 speed. In some of her other races she has been content to sit further back but in this spot that versatility can be dangerous. She’s scratchbred daughter of Mehmas x Flying Spur x Zoustar.

#5 Fangda Fangda 17/1

Fangda Fangda is seeking the first graded win of his career in this spot. He’s hit the board in three grades including a third place finish in the Grade Three Hundred Tower Stakes in his most recent outing. In that six furlong spot he sat towards the rear of the field before moving up slightly but he was still beaten by almost three lengths while running a 107 speed. He does have two listed wins this year but if he falls way back he’ll have a lot of horses to pass late. He’s a five year old son of Spirit of Boom out of a Rahy x Theatrical mare who was herself a graded placed stakes winner but he’s the only one of her foals to earn any black type.

#6 Special Fried Rice 12/1

Six year old Special Fried Rice is the kind of solid runner every owner wants. From thirty three starts he’s been in the money seventeen times and has earned nearly a million dollars. He’s only made five starts this season but his last two races have been some of the strongest of his career. He was second in the Grade Two Len Knocks over a good track two back. He battled for the early lead and just lost by a quarter length while running a 109 speed. He returned on a firm course in the Grade Three Blue Pin Stakes where he sat midpack before making a big run around the turn and down the stretch to win with a 114 speed. Both of those races came at seven furlongs but with his experience the turn back in distance shouldn’t be a problem for him. He’s a son of the Galileo son Japan out of a stakes winning Lope de Vega x Mr. Greeley mare and is her oldest foal and only stakes winner.

#7 Fireside Cat 14/1

Five year old Fireside Cat is a son of War Front out of the grade two winning Pivotal x Storm Cat mare Inflection. He is one of four graded winners for his dam. Last year he won two graded races which was good enough to get him into this race where he finished a very good fourth. From six races this year he has one win and allowance going five and a half furlongs. It was a good race but he only ran against five other horses. In his other five races he finished fourth or better four times. It seems like he may have lost a step but he did run a 110 speed in that allowance win which came eleven weeks ago. Expect him to be mid pack early on if you want to see him run his best race.

#8 Chudley Cannons 26/1

Chudley Cannons is very lightly raced with only eleven starts at the end of her four year old season. She’s won six of them including in the Equinics two starts back. In that spot she wired the field over a good turf course but she’s used his speed in other big races most notably the Grade Three Atari Stakes. Her top speed is 113 which came last year although she has run two 111s this season. If she gets the front she’ll be dangerous but she seems to spit the bit if he doesn’t get things his way. She’s a scratchbred son of Sepoy x Agnes Tachyon x Montjeu.

#9 Starborn 11/1

Starborn enters off the biggest win of his career in the Grade One Keep Them Educated Stakes. In that seven furlong spot which was run over a good course he sat in fourth early on just behind the early leaders before pouncing and running a 115 speed. He actually ran one point better back in July when he won the Grade Three Hess Mile by wiring the field. The distance here certainly seems the biggest issue for Starborn who seems better between 7-8 furlongs. He’s a son of Zoustar out of Feel the Stars a graded placed stakes winning mare who has also produced a grade two winner. She’s by Montjeu x Seeking the Gold.

#10 No Headbone Plays 17/1

If you want a mare who will give everything she’s got it’s No Headbone Plays. She’s won twenty one of thirty three starts with seven other placings. She’s earned over $2,000,000 and is riding a seven race win streak. Her speeds are not among the tops in this field but she’s also been running at five or five and a half furlongs during that skein. She’s a three time winner of the Grade One Quinn Stakes from which she emerges for this start. Don’t expect her to be too close to the front runners. She does have tactical speed but considering she’s a bit slower than the colts here one wonders if she may get shuffled back farther than she likes. No Headbone Plays is a daughter of Kitten’s Joy and is the only graded winner from her Lope de Vega x Henny Hughes mare.

#11 Trapeze Tycoon 43/1

Three year old Trapeze Tycoon has never been worse than second in twelve career starts. Included in his wins are the Grade One Iron Knight Sprint and the Grade One Hotless Stud Stakes. Both came at six furlongs against fellow sophomores but his speeds are moving in a favorable direction from 104 to 106 to 108 in his most recent start. He’ll have to take another (big) step forward but he’s got the right style of sitting midpack and his tactical speed could see him sitting even closer if needs be. He’s a son of Trapeze Artist out of a stakes winning Written Tycoon x Dansili mare. This is her second foal.

#12 Louisville Boyne 18/1

You have to go back to July of 2024 to find Louisville Boyne entered in a non-graded race. He doesn’t always win at this level but he did take the Grade Two Goldene two starts back. In that spot he pressed the early pace took the lead around the turn and kept off the closers while running a 109 speed. That pace pressing style is his signature. He used it again last time out in the Grade One Longchamp Sprint but he fell a length a a quarter back at the end finishing third with a 107. He’s a son of River Boyne and is the second graded winner for his Librettist x Forty Niner dam.

#13 Kymarh Keber 9/1

Kymarh Keber is the first of three co-favorites. He enters off two graded wins, the first coming going seven furlongs in the Grade Three Hungry Ford where he ran a 114 and the most recent in the five and a half furlong Grade Two Mano Sprint where he ran a 109. He ran a career best 118 four starts back when winning a listed going seven and a half furlongs. His two graded wins saw him on the lead from the get go but he did sit in second early on in that listed win. He’s a son of Zarak out of the grade one wining millionaire mare Finke Beryllium (Variety Club x Cape Cross) although he is her only graded winner so far.

#14 Iff Eye Dreamed 14/1

Iff Eye Dreamed finished second in this race back in 2024. In spite of winning five grade ones last season his connections bypassed that edition of this race. He added a sixth grade one win this year in the Sand Castle Turf Sprint which vaulted him into the hall of fame. His next two starts were disappointing and although he did win his most recent start it was not a particularly impressive win. In a British-local stakes going four and a half furlongs he lead wire to wire to win by a quarter of a length with a 103 speed. That race was ten weeks ago so he enters fresh but with some questions to answer. He’s a son of Iffraaj and the only stakes horse from his Oasis Dream x Forty Niner dam.

#15 Bedazzled Denim 15/1

The six year old Speightstown horse Bedazzled Denim is having the best season of his career. In June he won the first graded stakes of his career in the Grade Three Highlander and he added another win in the Grade Two Near Tic run over a good turf course. Both of those races came at six furlongs, sandwiched in between was a poor run in a seven furlong grade two. He ran a 109 speed in the Highlander and a 107 in the Near Tic although he does have a couple of 111s in previous years. He is the first of two foals for his Invincible Spirit x Nureyev dam.

#16 Kamonkey 9/1

Kamonkey is a five year old gelding who was available for a $150,000 claiming tag just last year. Luckily no one took him as he has gone on to have a great season in 2026 highlighted by a win in the Grade One MGD Special at this distance. He exits a win in the listed Argonath Turf Sprint and therefore is my pick in this spot as I owned Argonath way back when. That said it’s been since March since he won back to back starts so that is a big question. In his wins this season he’s run 114, 117, 115 and 115 speeds. Indeed even in his two off the board races he still ran 107 and 111. He should sit just off the early pace and his speed is impressive so even though he is out wide in the posts his jockey has the opportunity to maneuver his into a more favorable position. He’s a son of Kamkeo and is the first foal for his Almanzor x Danili dam.

#17 Mutombo Block 15/1

The only grade one win in Mutombo Block’s past performances is the 2024 French 2000 Guinea Pigz going a mile over a yielding turf course. The second graded win of his career came in his most recent start the Grade Three Polar Bear Cup at seven furlongs. That race too was run over a yielding surface. He did run a 110 speed but that was his first at that level all year, although all of his other speeds have been triple digits. He’s a son of No Nay Never based on the grade one winning Frankel x Street Cry horse Break Away Drunk.

#18 Fliptrax 9/1

Flip Trax is a five year old scratchbred son of Lord Kanaloa x Danehill x I Am Invincible. He’ll likely be last of the pack early on in this race but he does have a very strong closing kick. He used it to his advantage in the Grade Three The Minstrel Stakes three starts back which he won with a 116 speed. He came very close last out in the Grade Two De La Fore where he was just a half length short while running a 115 speed. He is not the most consistent type but when he’s on, he’s really on. Being able to navigate a field of nineteen horses in front of him he’ll need to be really, really on..

#19 Advising Barbara 16/1

Another scratchbred is the five year old Advising Barbara who is by Showcasing x Deep Impact x Frankel. He has not won since March when he took the Grade Two Powerful Sun at six furlongs. In that spot he sat midpack before making a move around the turn and then holding off the late runners by a neck while running a 111 speed. His three starts since have been less successful. His best finish was a third in a grade one in July where he was much further back early on and came up nearly four lengths short when third with a 110 speed.

#20 Araneus Maximus 16/1

Entering on a four race win streak is Araneus Maximus. This four year old colt started his streak in March when he took a listed with a 111 speed. He matched that number in a grade three next time out and then in his last two starts he’s run back to back 113s. He may just be the speed of the speed in this spot which he’ll need to flash early on in order to get any kind of position early on. He’s a son of Microphone out of an Epiphaneia x Lypheor mare and is her only black type horse to date.

Good luck to all!

The six and a half furlong Breeders’ Bowl Turf Sprint has attracted a full twenty horse field as befits a

[2
post-77275","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","tag-previews
["GET
