This could be the first step towards a possible major Oaks campaign later in the year for these runners.

The race has attracted a small field of the following seven runners, all having their first starts as 3 year olds.

PP#1 NORTHERN LITE T(KY) ( Aragorn (IRE) x North Light (IRE) x Trempolino ) trained by Stallion with jockey T Baxter on board. Odds: 9/1.

This mare has had 8 starts for a record of 2-1-1 and has been placed a stakes level. After starting her racing life on the dirt this horse has thrived since moving to the turf with a highest SP# of 85. From her previous starts it appears the best from has been as a front runner. Has every chance and is worth considering.

PP#2 ARCTIC FLIGHT (IRE) ( Shamardal x Flying Spur (AUS) x Lear Fan ) trained by Canisminor with jockey P Bangs on board. Odds: 5/1

This mare has had 9 starts with a record of 4-3-1 and racing for the first time at stakes level. This horse won 2 of the 3 Queensland Restricted 2yo Resident races and has a highest SP# of 90. This race is a step up in class but has a top jockey on board and should be right there in the finish.

PP#3 THRILL OF RULER (IRE) ( Dylan Thomas (IRE) x Alydar x Bold Ruler ) trained by Eirann3 with jockey D K Young on board. Odds: 3/1.

Mare having her second ever race start. Won on debut over 7 furlongs with an impressive sp# of 88. This mare is by Danehill’s boom sire Dylan Thomas. In her first race she sat just off the pace and stormed home to win easily. Will be hard to beat if she improves on her first start.

PP#4 ROZELLE SUN (AUS) ( Haradasun (AUS) x Testa Rosa (AUS) x Caerlon) trained by Ausracing with jockey B Philip on board. Odds: 5/1.

Only Australian bred horse in the field named after one of Sydney’s best suburbs. Six previous starts for a record of 3-1-1 with a close second finish her last start in her only previous stakes race. She has a highest SP# of 90 over this distance at this track. Is having her 4th start at this track with her previous 3 all being wins. Likes the track and will be extremely hard to beat.

PP#5 BERANTEVILLA (JPN) ( Deep Impact x Kingmambo x Green Desert) trained by Bellissimo with jockey T Clark on board. Odds: 2/1.

Pre-post favourite for the race and deservedly so. Has 9 starts for a record of 2-3-2 and although has yet to win a stakes race has had finished third in two G1 races. Has a highest SP# of 94. This horse has strong breeding and is the best credentialed runner in the field. Looks likely to win her first stakes race.

PP#6 XINGGAN (KY) ( Rahy xTheatrical (IRE) x Southern Halo) trained by Superfly2 with jockey L Fain on board. Odds: 9/2.

Has 5 starts for a record of 2-0-1. Only mare in the field that has won at stakes level as well as running third in a G3 race and has a highest SP# of 88 over 8 furlongs. I like the breeding of this horse with a strong Northern Dancer presence in both the Dam sire line and DD sire line. Is coming back in distance from previous start and that should suit. On form should be right in the finish.

PP#7 MYA’S ESCORT (IRE) ( Holy Roman Emperor x Sadler’s Wells x Danzig) trained by Mya5 with jockey B Walkley on board. Odds: 10/1.

The pre-post outsider in the field. Another mare with a strong Northern Dancer presence in her breeding. Has 2 starts for a record of 1-0-0 with a highest SP# of 83 over 8 furlongs. After a poor first up showing on the dirt this mare enjoyed the change of surface to the grass last start with a strong win. Is another steeping up in class and will need to improve to figure in the finish. Prefer others.

TIPS

I think the favourite #5 Berantevilla (JPN) will win from #4 Rozelle Sun (AUS) in second with #6 Xinggan (KY) to finish third in what should be a great race.

[2

post-7671","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
