The annual DPCD events brings us the G1 ‘DPCD VIII Eruption Handicap’ for two year-old\u00a0colts at a distance of 8f.\u00a0 Today’s race features the #1 and #3 ranked colts\u00a0in the division and also features some up and coming horses that are blossoming\u00a0late in the season.<\/p>\n

Ramo\t<\/span>tried a turf prep last out, which was an interesting strategy considering the horse\u00a0was on an up-tick in the SP column.\u00a0 The hope here is he did not end the horses\u00a0momentum.\u00a0 Also factor in that graded company has not treated this colt well\u00a0and he will need a lot of help if he wants to put this victory in ink.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Like that this\u00a0horse had his bounce race 2 back and can now be ready to move forward if the horse\u00a0has what it takes. Interested to see if he gets beat out of the gate if he’ll\t<\/span>throw in the towel or fight on.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Our final Breeders Bowl participant finished just a head of INAGURATION and THE\u00a0BEGGAR KING.\u00a0 Already a G1 and G2 win on the books and more in it’s future.\u00a0If I have to find a fault (not many), it’s that at the longer distance last out,\u00a0he was not gaining on the leaders as much as the previous to horses mentioned.\u00a0Now grant it, we cut back in distance, so maybe that gap is larger if that last\u00a0race were today’s distance.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Sledge’s Analysis:<\/u><\/b>
As I usually do, when I look at 2yo races, I look for horses on the up-tick and\u00a0stay away from potential bounce horses.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\t<\/span>
Fitting the upward criteria in my eyes are three horses.\u00a0 Two of them are Inauguration<\/b><\/div>\n
and Just Vegeance<\/b>. Inauguration<\/b> is about as consistent as you can be as a 2yo and\u00a0Just Vegeance<\/b> appears past his bounce race and the SP’s are on the up-tick. \u00a0But\u00a0the horse I am looking at is Wick<\/b>.\u00a0 The horse has been on the up-tick his last\t<\/span>3 races and appears to still be sitting on a big SP. He has not had that big jump\u00a0yet, which means that it could come today. The “bounce” horses in play\u00a0here are Highgarden<\/b> and Bushwhacked Ted<\/b>.<\/div>\n

To round out the exacta and triple, i’m looking at\u00a0Inauguration<\/b>\u00a0to get up for\u00a0second, with Just Vegeance<\/b> hanging on for third, but\t<\/span>will have to old off closers The Beggar King<\/b> and Devil’s Backbone\u00a0take a run at 3rd.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
