Vermont<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> <\/SPAN><\/B>– I arrived early and went straight to the track hoping to get a look at the six entrants in The Regis Braune Challenge.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The weather was clear and quite crisp and is expected to stay that way through Saturday.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The Regis Braune is a 5 1\/2 furlong race over the grass for 2 YO fillies and carries a purse of $70,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It is named after a now 6YO retired mare by Monsun who was a three time winner and was stake’s placed.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has two foals to race – one winner. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

I found a quiet spot along the rail and it wasn’t long before the first on my list pranced her way on to the track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A deep red chestnut, Red Regent<\/B> (2\/1) saw something in the distance and planted all four feet until she could get a good look at it. \u00a0<\/SPAN>She looked around, took a deep breath and gave a loud snort before finally moving off into a long trot, her while feet dancing over the track as she did a two mile jog the wrong way of the track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Owned and trained by Kevoman2<\/I>,<\/B> she is 5\/5 in the money and has two wins notched on her belt.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She was the wire to wire winner in the Silent Steer last time out and is the top ranked turf filly of this group at # 78.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>As I watched her complete her morning exercise, she looked like the one to beat as every part of her screamed racehorse.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

I was so busy watching Red Regent<\/B> that I almost missed Behr And Bold<\/B> (8\/1) who blew by in a down the lane lung opener after a mile gallop.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The 2 YO daughter of Behrens moved well as she galloped out around the turn and came back to the gap hardly drawing a deep breath although you could smell the horse liniment that had been used on some real or imagined injury the night before.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Obxfarms<\/I><\/B> is the owner of this plain bay filly who’s only win came over the lawn with a 20 point speed figure jump.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Jakematt3<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B> sent his non-coupled entry out as a set for an easy gallop.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Barb’s Ready Set<\/B> (4\/1) is by Reset and she came from far back to break her maiden in her last start. \u00a0<\/SPAN>The bright bay filly moved easily through her morning exercise and was pulling hard. To her outside was Dixie Town Hall<\/B> (6\/1) a dark bay or brown daughter of Dixie Union.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A bit common in the head, she looked like she could be a real handful but her rider was doing a good job of keeping her near her stable mate.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Both of her wins came on the turf and she comes in off a win in the Alysha Challenge at 5 1\/2 furlongs where she lay just off the pace before drawing off for an easy victory.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Sighdropper<\/SPAN><\/B> (5\/2) is owned and trained by Pattips<\/I> and the rather large brown filly, with an even larger head is by Eavesdropper.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She ponied by me, bucking and kicking without a care in the world.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The pony rider had to shank her a lot, as she kept trying to do in the poor pony.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has two wins over the grass and has won two of her last three races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has a ton of gas and will likely be up front trying to make things go her way.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Last to come out was my own Across The Sunrise<\/B> (7\/2), a gift from a good friend.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>By Sadler’s Wells she has only one win from five starts but her two bad races were my fault.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I tried her on the dirt but she hated the clods in her face and then I tried her in a Grade III which was just too much for her. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>She is dropping back in class Saturday, comparatively, and I think she will give a good accounting of herself.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
