This race has drawn a short field of five fillies and mares that will travel a grueling 16 furlongs. I was in hope of seeing a few more last-minute entries and I also scoured my stables to see if I could find one, but I did not have anything worthy. The race will be on the fast dirt track this Saturday and although we have a short field it is tight and anything could happen. The morning line odds and post positions have been released so let us now take a preview of the five fillies and mares that will make the start in the G1, The Saturday Night Girl.

1

LAUGH ART

KY

5F

deputy33

M Bia

25

11

80%

$1,043,754

84.50

9/5

Heading out first we will see this 5 year old Brown Mare (AUTHENTIC x STREET CRY x GIANT’S CAUSEWAY ) who has been racing on both the turf and dirt surfaces this season. Her three most recent starts have all came on the dirt. Three starts back she would get the win in the G1, The Sneaky Sneaky Stayer. She would then make an off the boards start which leads up to her most recent start in Virginia. There she would go 16 furlongs in the G2, The Rocky Top Oaks. She put up another good effort in her stretch run for the wire and would just miss by a head and came in second with a 105 speed rating. She has shown she can go the distance and would like to get a win in her final race of the season when she heads out of the paddock to the cheers of an excited crowd.

2

GOT IT RIGHT

KY

3F

asrstar13

K Ledwith

9

3

44%

$70,310

0.13

8/1

Here we have a 3 year old Bay Filly (QUALITY ROAD x BROAD BRUSH x SADLER’S WELLS ) that was running on the dirt but would transition over to the turf in her three most recent starts. After posting a couple of Allowance wins she would move up in class for her most recent start in Victoria. She would head out to go 10 furlongs in the G3, The Wake Up Stakes. It appeared someone forgot to tell her to “wake up” as she lingered way back throughout and would never be a factor as she crossed the wire in ninth with a 102 speed rating. She needs to be prepared and ready this weekend and show up with a little more effort than her most recent when she heads over to the turf representing the Orphan Racing residency.

3

WAN SERIOUS LEE

FR

5F

cozzene99

D Dowell

29

9

59%

$558,352

28.00

5/1

Next, we have this 5 year old Brown Mare (LE HAVRE (IRE) x STREET CRY x MEDAGLIA D’ORO ) that would come in second in a couple of graded races earlier in the season. But she continues to struggle finding the winner’s circle in a graded start. Last time on the track we would see her in New Mexico going 12 furlongs in a $42100 NW1s. She stalked the front runners in the early going and would find the gas pedal to get out in front by the third call. She would then lead the field all the way to the wire for the win with a 106 speed rating. She needs to bring a big effort this weekend as she hunts for her first graded win representing the East-West Connection residency.

4

KEEP WATCHING

KY

4F

flightlineasr

J Wilson

17

7

65%

$2,386,096

68.00

5/2

Here we have a 4 year old Bay Filly (FLIGHTLINE x SADLER’S WELLS x KINGMAMBO ) that is no stranger to both the turf and dirt surfaces. She won this race last year going gate to wire by sixteen lengths and is returning to defend her crown. She is also an EOY winner and has shown to be tough competitor. Her four most recent starts have been on the turf and in her most recent start in California she would go 11 furlongs in the G1, Breeders’ Bowl F and M Turf. She never made any big moves in this race and would cross the wire in fifth with a 111 speed rating. This year she is looking to defend that title and get the win again here in Italy when she heads out at post time representing the Orphan Racing residency.

5

AWESOME SARCASM

KY

6F

amir1653

E Bernstein

24

9

75%

$638,129

16.00

2/1

Breaking from the final gate in this race we have this 6 year old Bay Mare (DISTORTED HUMOR x AWESOME AGAIN x MEDAGLIA D’ORO ) that two starts back would pick up a nice Allowance win in New South Wales. She then moved back up in class for her most recent start in Dubai going 11 furlongs in the G2, The Five Year Plan Stakes. She would struggle against this field and remained well back throughout and cross the wire in eighth with a 105 speed rating. She needs to find some more effort at the graded level, and she is hoping to do that this Saturday when she heads out to represent the Elite Racing Club residency

Good luck to all owners and horses!

Skippy’s Watch List

1-Laugh Art: Ran well in her most recent start.
