Two year old races are starting to open up. We are in the run up to Derby Week and the Triple Jewel races, which is still the most exciting race week here. Those three year olds are starting to either feel their oats or you are starting to think about some claimers for them. And best of all, if you watch your races on Saturday and your horses all run like trash, it won’t be long before you can shut down the computer and head outside!

2. I wonder who the big first year Sire will be. CURLIN and BIG BROWN are easy picks but there is always one that comes out of the woodwork. There are always big disappointments too. I know that last year, I had big hopes for KITTEN’S JOY and he never really lived up to his hype.

3. I think that there is a lot of pressure on Kirby to keep coming up with those photos on the front page. The best part about it is the mystery of who they are and what the story is.

4. I wonder how people find this game. I can’t even remember how I found it although I was always searching for a good horse racing game on the net or for a game system. If you Google, “Horse Racing Fantasy Game”, Simulated Sports comes up number six. What makes someone give it a try?

5. KBSweet must carry a camera with her at all times. She gets some great shots that way though! I for one enjoy her photos. Of course it wouldn’t be much fun if there was NEVER any disagreements on the message board. I can remember some times when the message board wasn’t near as tame as it has been for a long time!

6. The early returns from the viewer are looking pretty sweet. I can already imagine my horses running in front of that grandstand and crossing the wire ahead of everyone else!!

7. Speaking of the viewer, I wonder if it is just me or has anyone else ever noticed that in our current viewer the posts on the rail cast a shadow but our horses don’t? That has always bothered me. What kind of crazy sun spots cause a shadow on one part of the track but not the other!!

8. I am really excited about the addition of Polyturf to the game. I know that there are some who are not looking forward to it as much as me but I have several horses that at this point are garbage on both dirt and turf and who knows, perhaps they were made for the Poly!!!

9. I’ve been in this game for seven years this month and I’m still learning like crazy. Of course the first few years I flew by the seat of my pants, solo with no rez help or a real interest in getting better. Since then, I’ve had plenty of Graded and Stakes wins and wins in the Breeders Bowl, Equinics and World Cup. I am still looking for that elusive Bluegrass Derby entry though and it is going to be tough this year as I would have to get into and win a lock race. This game is hard!

10. The ladies back at the BTB offices do an incredible job! I know that from time to time I suffer from burnout writing and they are like the energizer bunnies, they just keep going and going and going!!

11. It is amazing how many people come and go in this game and yet some hang in there seemingly forever. Anyone that has been around for even a couple of years can name someone that was everywhere in the game and then just dropped out of sight. I think it has something to do with the microwave society we have…read into that what you will.

12. I would be interested to see how the sign ups go for Mike in this game. Are there more stables started at the first of the year or is the biggest boost around the Kentucky Derby? Or is there even a time when year in and year out, that is when people show the most interest?

13. I wonder if anyone is even interested in what I think. Or do I really care? Or will this column come around again anytime soon? Stay tuned!

Email your comments to pazjazz.btb@gmail.comI love to hear from you!

[4

post-7294","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-general
["GET
