Horse Owners Take A <\/SPAN><\/B>Bath<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> As Sales Plummet<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

Auction 3861:<\/SPAN><\/B> This week the auction saw almost 100 more horses entered and yet only one of those horses was a two year-old.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>With 2 YO racing starting this coming week, more people are holding onto their unraced 2 YO’s and after next week, I am sure most of the 2 YO’s that will be entered in the auction will have at least one start under their belt.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Other points of interest – many, many random bred and named horses were sent through the ring, and the killer buyer was extremely busy buying many of the unwanted and unsound.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Only seven of the 119 older horses offered, sold for more than a dollar, but the top seller of the group, did go for the nice sum of $785,001.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Mallard<\/I><\/B> led the 8YO chestnut stallion, Ray Finkle<\/B> #60024, away as the buyer of record.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>By Point Given, Ray has six wins from51 starts and ran a 111speed figure two back in a winning effort.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

There were a few nice buys this week for less than $3,000. \u00a0<\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN>My favorite was hip number 26875, a 5YO brown stallion named Holzmeister.<\/B>\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Holzmeister has never run in a maiden race, making his first lifetime start at 16 furlongs and finishing second.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It was his only start for a tag.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Since then he has only won three of his 16 starts but has been in the money in 13 of those races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Deliu<\/I><\/B> saw some potential and took him home for only $2,631.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Here are the rest of your auction stats. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

There were only five horses that went for more than a million dollars and two of those sold within a residency, if not to the same group of stables.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The top seller this week was #160807 Keppler Of Gold.<\/B>\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Gemfarms,<\/I><\/B> part of the Emit collection, sold the 3 YO copper chestnut filly by Seeking The Gold.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is the winner of one and has been in the money in six of her ten starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is stakes placed but was a well beaten third of only four starters in that race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>That said she could mature into something nice as she is out of the good <\/SPAN>Irish<\/SPAN><\/st1:PlaceName> <\/SPAN>River<\/SPAN><\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> mare Sadie Queen.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Sadie is the dam of seven foals, all winners including two stakes winners.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Sadie, herself, won a total of seven races including two Graded races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Pullaway<\/I><\/B> signed the ticket on this nice filly for $2,057,003.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The reserve status went to #174382 Big Cat Tales<\/B> a 3 YO dark bay colt by Bernardini. Champions4<\/I><\/B> sold this handsome colt to Seedly2<\/I><\/B> for $2,000,001.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He was an opening winner last time out in only his third lifetime start and is out of the Graded stakes winner Wild Cat Tales by Tale of The Cat.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>WCT not only won two Grade I races but has a total of eight stakes wins from her 43 starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is the dam of two foals to race – both winners.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Great Debater<\/SPAN><\/B>, #174549, sold for $1,900,001.00 to Targetfarm<\/I><\/B> and was consigned by a member of the same residency, Wait2breed<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The 4 YO bay colt is by Ukok Warrior and out of a Pleasant Tap mare.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has been close to breaking his maiden in two of his five starts finishing second both times.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Once he lost a tight photo by only a nose and seems to consistently run in the mid to high 80s so maybe this colt will develop as the years goes on.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Aceedecee,<\/SPAN><\/B> #115934, was also sold within the same WorldWideRacing<\/I> residency as Great Debater.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Wonder91<\/I><\/B> is a division of the same stable group as Wait2breed andsold this 5 YO brown stallion by Milwaukee Brew to Shoreup22<\/I><\/B> for $1,130,000. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>Out of a Caerleon mare, Ace has three wins from 32 starts and ran fourth last time out for a $15,000 claiming tag.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has not won in the past six months but seems to be rounding back into form.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The last horse on our million dollar list was Point This Way<\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Jdtrot38<\/I><\/B> sold this 6 YO grey son of Skip Away for $1,000,001.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has won 10 of his 54 starts and has been on the board in all of his last eight starts, winning three of them.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He finished second two back in The Pompous Craft<\/I> earning a 101 speed figure over 12 furlongs.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is out of the three time winner Street Smart by Point Given.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This is her only foal.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Larot<\/I><\/B>, who is a very smart trainer, signed the ticket on this one. <\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

I made it from the airport in good time and while it wasn’t exactly sunny, it was definitely warmer than it has been the last few weeks, if you can call a high of near 40 degrees warm.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I saw a lot of trees down on my car ride to the sale barn.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>My driver was telling me that they had had a big wind storm this past week and there was a lot of damage.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Hope all the farms are all right.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It’s been cold, snowy, icy and now windy – and it is foaling season.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The sale barn was lit up and I walked in with Lecheapo<\/I><\/B> who was selling a bunch of horses and my friend Graywolf<\/I><\/B> who, for those that don’t know, is a handicapper of great renown.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is usually nice enough to give me some tips even though I rarely bet. \u00a0<\/SPAN>The bar area was pretty crowded.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I saw Kochiyoko<\/I><\/B> and Unshaded<\/I><\/B> standing with Limey<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I had a nice visit with them and then after getting my Pepsi, I headed for my reserved table in front of the fireplace.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The fire is the only source of heat in the building so it is always crowded.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The table to my right was standing room only.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I don’t know why they have these tiny tables and only two chairs.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Almost everyone has to go get more chairs from the bar area and Billme<\/I><\/B> always has his hand out.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Jayco<\/I><\/B> was talking about how to sell travel trailers with Belles<\/I><\/B> and Libledlady<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>All three looked more like they were waiting for Kirby55<\/I><\/B> than the auction to begin.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Mrluck<\/I><\/B> came by with Fredsims<\/I><\/B> and asked Sartori <\/I><\/B>to give an opinion on one of the sale horses.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I wasn’t asked but couldn’t resist pointing out the good grooming job done by Good<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Evilpanda<\/I><\/B> wandered by looking lost so I told him where the Cvbear<\/I><\/B> clan hangs out by the back entrance.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Stephane<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B> and Orlandoo<\/I><\/B> stopped to visit with Aak<\/I><\/B>, a division of the Snowchief stables.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She was there with Squirrel<\/I><\/B> who was selling off a lot of older horses this week.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>One of Squirrel’s even had a reserve of $2,500,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Sure, it was by <\/SPAN>Danzig<\/SPAN><\/st1:place>, but it was a 7 YO with a low tag of $15,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>What’s with that <\/SPAN>Tracy<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:City>?\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Jacklad<\/I><\/B> was also selling a bunch and he is always fun to visit with.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Scotland<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> is one of the most beautiful places on earth and he is so lucky to live there. \u00a0<\/SPAN>Let’s see, who else did I get a chance to visit with?\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Lu<\/I><\/B> and Snags<\/I><\/B> stopped by as well as Quaka <\/I><\/B>and I saw Viennapark<\/I><\/B> was active down by 42ndstreet<\/I><\/B> near the ring. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>All in all, it was a pleasant afternoon with some good friends.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>That’s my story for this week.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Good Luck with all your auction purchases.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
